We celebrate the commercialism of Christmas. I HATE Christmas music. HATE it. Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole.... bleeeeargh. I can barely stand John Lennon's Christmas song, much less any other cheesy version of whatever. Me too. It's everywhere. Sometimes I would rather listen to "My Humps". Although, as someone mentioned upthread, I do like "Do They Know It's Christmas" for the Boy George solo...and maybe NSYNC's "Merry Christmas Happy Holidays" because part of me still likes them.

My workplace is launching it's own protest against Christmas Music and Movies by just not playing anything. Yes, somehow silence is more tolerable than being forced to hear Roise O'Donnell's Christmas albums (done as a joke and protest) anymore. Just don't tell our overall management, but I'm pretty sure the entire music department staff (full of punks and emos and other assortments of good times) would have their head explode if we play any more Christmas music.
We've also avoided the Santa Hats so far, thank the stars.

I remember one time last year, I was shopping at Target during the holidays. I got to the register when I stated out loud, "Hey! There's no Christmas music!" The cashier said something like, "Yes, Target believes that customers should have nothing annoying them while they shop." I said, "Well, I really like that! Please tell your manager that at least one customer appreciates it."

One of the many things I hated about working retail during the holidays was that it would ruin Christmas music for me. Now I can blissfully avoid malls and blast my own musical concoctions in the privacy of my own home, and I'm MUCH happier!

Heard "O Holy Night" today at the store and started tearing up. I'm not even that religious, but that song done right gives me chills.
On of the best things about Christmas music is all the different versions of the same songs. Some are great and others are only good for the cheese effect. I wish I had a CD of all the different versions of "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm"
