I loooove him and I'm a LFC fan He's so pretty and so blond and so ... so.... tall. Maybe a bit simple minded but I think I could live with it.

You know what's horrible? I love LFC AND Manchester United. I'm a terrible football fan.

That is impossible. If you really loved them both you would have imploded by now.
What cup is the most important cup?

I think it's because there's a number of players on both teams that I adore so I can't help but love both teams.
I think each cup is important in their own way I suppose.

The first rule of money management: no one is set for life. Those who are rich stay that way by knowing that opposite is true. A quick Google search sets his net worth at 80$ million according to SI. Not chump change, obviously, but there are athletes and other celebrities who've had that much, and more, and lost it by thinking that they would be a star forever.
Yes, and those always work out. Which is why no celebrity has ever lost the plot, ever.
Money managers are only as good as their employers. If the stars want to flush their bucks down the toilet, their employees will happily hold up the lid as long as they get their own paychecks signed. They can always book it for greener pastures, after all. I'm sure Beckham's accountant is not doing his job because he loves David so much and just wants to see him do well in life.
And of course, the stars dumb enough not to pay attention to their own finances usually find out that their hired guns were paying attention...and consequently taking a very big chunk for themselves.
Some bad investments, a few lawsuits, an expensive divorce and/or a big scandal is all it takes....right, Michael Jackson?
Famous last words: I bet people were saying that exact same thing about Michael Jackson in 1989, or Michael Jordan in 1990. Very, very few are guaranteed fame forever. Worshipped in Asia now means squat for the future: trends and advertisement are very fickle industries. Start losing your game, have your movies start flopping, or have your album bomb....there's always another younger and hipper athlete, movie star or singer around the corner.
I saw that Ali G show. Beckham sat there mostly silent, looking confused and ocassionally giggling, in the way people do when they realize other people are laughing because a joke was told, even though they don't get the joke themselves.

We'll just have to agree to disagree!
Actually I heard it's about 200-300$ million now. I could be wrong.

Where was I implying that he will suddenly stop getting these deals? He won't retire from money making. He will do everything he can to stay an advertisement icon. Pele, Beckenbauer ... all these guys whose glory days were in the 60's & 70's are still making money.
Michael Jordan is poor now?
And CEMJ is also not that good an example. Because even now he has investors/morons who are willing to give him money like that prince.

I remember reading Long Way Round, the companion book to the Ewan McGregor/Charley Boorman motorcycle trek 'round the world. In it, the boyos were told that the two English words most immediately recognized anywhere in the world are fuck and Beckham.

Kids can leave school at 16 here - so no matter when Beckham was signed up, he would still have had to have schooling in one form or another until then. It's the law.
Having said that, I don't believe that he is particularly intelligent given that quote (about his attempt to help his son with his homework) and his appalling grammar. "I was teached." WTF?!
I hope he does find something to do as a career after his football career ends. Like poorfrances, I think he could end up losing everything (though I think it'd take him awhile). Not just because of his lifestyle, but also because there have been plenty of rich people ruined by their accountants and hangers-on.

I am always happy to see new (and old) Beckham pictures. Thanks, jdkwfan4ever! I thought he'd had bad plastic surgery a while back but he's looking delicious again in the new pix so maybe the bad pix were just that. I think Beckham's failure to speak or write "perfect" English is due to his relative lack of education. I don't have an opinion on his intelligence or lack thereof because I don't know him personally. And if I did, I certainly wouldn't spend time correcting his grammar.
