How does one pronounce Carys?
She’s cute. Like, she would have been one of the cutest girls at my small town high school in Missouri.

How does one pronounce Carys? I pronounce it like it rhymes with Paris.

I agree, carrier76. She is pretty in a cute kind of way, I wouldn't consider her to be plain at all, but there isn't any charisma or anything striking about her, either. I saw the family photos posted from her brother's graduation, and I don't see anything especially striking about him, either, even if he does take after Catherine. Just a nice looking kid whose looks haven't fully matured yet.

I assume it's pronounced "Care-iss". I think it's a pretty name.
And wow, tough crowd here. While I agree that it's annoying when celeb parents push their children into the spotlight just because they can, and then expect stardom for them, I'm surprised by the insults toward this child, how she is plain and uninteresting. Yes, her parent shouldn't put her out there if they don't want this commentary, but she is still a child. And a comment about a sex tape is completely inappropriate.
My thoughts are that acting is the family business, and like a few others have noted, it's common for kids to want the same careers as their parents, esp when both parents do the same job.
If Mom and Dad are both doctors or teachers, their kids naturally gravitate toward that because it's familiar. Or if the parents own a restaurant, the kids help, out when they're old enough and then take over. And don't get me started on farming, where kids are literally along for the ride as soon as they can walk, and are assumed that they will take over the farm. It's often a huge disappointment when they decline.
So I guess I see some similarities with show biz parents and the Ag parents I know. Although, all farm families make their kids graduate high school, and most go to college. Surely the Zeta-Douglases want Carys to finish high school?

I can't believe she is still in her 40s. Seems like she has been around forever.

I made the joking comment about the sex tape on direct reference to CZJ trying to momager her child’s game like Kris Jenner. I don’t think it’s inappropriate given the context. Plucking it out on its own like someone is clamoring for a sex tape from this kid is kind of inappropriate though.

There has been a long-standing rumor that CZJ told MD she was 10 years younger than she actually was and he didn't find out until they went to the Clinton WH, and she had to show her birth certificate. I think she seems older than she is, and that might be part of the issue.
She was supposedly born in 1969. So she's 48, going on 49 in September. I don't think she's almost 59.
I DO think she's had a couple of "refreshers" over the years.

I would actually be interested to know if celeb kids go into their parents' professions at a particularly abnormal rate (although I have no idea how one would actually go about finding that out!). I'm sure this is partially because I am early in my working life, but looking around many of my friends/acquaintances are pursuing work pretty similar to what their parents did--not all, by any means, but enough that it is unremarkable. And honestly, if either of my parents had connections out the wazoo I don't think I would turn down the chance to take advantage of it. I don't think it's just a showbiz thing. I work at a high end spa that caters to the very wealthy, many of them 1%. We're also located down the road from a pretty prestigious school. So I see a lot of parent and child guests. A huge portion of the kids seem to be following in their parents footsteps. I really think there's something about the way the really wealthy raise their children that insures they'll follow a similar career path. I'm not sure if it's a conscious thing on the part of the parents. Or if the kids just see it as a way to continue the lifestyle they are used to or maybe it's because it's something they've grown up around and it seems normal. Then with the showbiz lifestyle there's the added perk of fame, attention, glamour etc. more on topic: That girl is a perfectly lovely normal girl, but I don't see the model thing happening longterm.

I can't imagine allowing my teenage daughter to begin a modeling career. Mainly because of all the image issues that come with being a teenager are amplified to the nth degree for models. It's not like they need the money or the exposure.
