Carys favors Michael more than CZJ, unfortunately. He was attractive way back when, but not in a way that translates well to a woman or teen girl's features.
It's too bad they can't let Carys grow up like a normal kid (ok, an extremely rich normal kid).

It's too bad they can't let Carys grow up like a normal kid (ok, an extremely rich normal kid). I can't really tell if Carys wants this and CZJ is trying to facilitate it, or if her parents are pushing her into something she's not particularly into. Her older brother is just doing normal things and is currently in college at Brown, so it doesn't seem like the CZJ and Michael are universally into pushing their kids into showbiz. Carys's (incredibly tone deaf) quotes from the Town & Country cover she did with CZJ seemed to suggest she wants to pursue the limelight herself.

I read all the comments under this at D-listed and somebody's take was it was to make CZJ look better, not to raise the daughter's profile. I wouldn't put it past her, to be honest.
Carys is cute, at best. Bland at worst. She ain't a great beauty or style queen. Somebody else mentioned Lily Collins because she's similarly bland.

I think Carys is completely normal looking and spending a lot of time posing next to her superlatively beautiful mom doesn't do her any favors (as it would not do most of us any favors). If she were also a good model I think I would actually find her look a little refreshing, but as it is...meh. I can't get a read on whether CZJ keeps agreeing to pose with her because it's the only way any brand/magazine will be interested in Carys or if it's just a desire for attention on Catherine's part. It is probably both.

I think if Catherine Zeta Jones was my mother, unless I was a drop dead stunner (as determined by neutral third parties, not my parents' friends & sycophants) I wouldn't even want to TRY to compete on the same level. There are so many other ways to distinguish oneself in life, why set yourself up for the constant comparisons when you are inevitably going to come up short? All it does is invite the kind of scrutiny that leads to ridicule and charges of nepotism. I would much rather be able to take pride in a skill or two that I could truly own, apart from my parents' influence to the degree that would be possible.
Sometimes I wonder about these celebrity kids who appear not to have anyone in their lives that will tell them the truth and encourage them to chart their own course. Look at someone like Delilah Hamlin, who at only 21 has already reshaped her face beyond recognition in an effort, I presume, to further her "modeling" career. It's just sad. Both Delilah and her sister have struggled with mental health issues and eating disorders and I can't help but lay a lot of the blame at the feet of their parents for encouraging or pushing them from young ages into careers that are all about looks. These girls are both cute--but not cut out to be models. At least Carys so far hasn't appeared to go down the same road and I hope she never does, but unless she's got some amazing acting skills that are yet to be revealed it feels to me like she's fighting a losing battle.
Then again, maybe she's just having fun and enjoying a bit of mother-daughter limelight for a few years and I'm totally off base about her ambitions.

These people live in a celebrity bubble, and this kind of common sense good advice cannot penetrate it. What is going to happen to their relationship when either A) it becomes clear that all the parental influence and nepotism in the world isn't going to get Carys a career because she's not star material or B) she tires of her stage-mother dragging her to these photo shoots and auditions. There's probably going to be resentment on both sides. Carys needs to have some straight talk with her older half-brother Cameron about the realities of growing up in the shadow of famous parents.
