I read all the comments under this at D-listed and somebody's take was it was to make CZJ look better, not to raise the daughter's profile. I wouldn't put it past her, to be honest. Carys is cute, at best. Bland at worst. She ain't a great beauty or style queen. Somebody else mentioned Lily Collins because she's similarly bland. I liked Lily Collins in Mirror, Mirror but I have a weakness for snarky fairytales. I haven't seen her in anything else though. Topic: I think it makes Carys look completely without talent when all she can do is appear in magazines with her mom. She can't even manage a bit part in a film? Surely her parents could pull enough strings for that. |

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I do find Carys stunning (and it does not surprise me: her dad was quite a dish when young, and her mother is still gorgeous). Sue me.

I'm filing the paperwork right now! She's attractive, but she's still very much a child, and looks it. Also, she does not appear to have any of her mother's charisma. As beautiful as CZJ is, were it not for her huge charisma, CZJ herself would not be a movie star. She would probably be an actress on CSI or some other procedural TV show, like Bridget Moynahan. I'm sure there's a place in Hollywood for Carys with her moderate good looks and her dull personality. Dakota Johnson did it. But even Dakota spent several years working on her resume and racking up bit parts. Melanie Griffith didn't just get her on magazine covers at age 15 before she'd done a single thing. The Douglases are putting the cart before the horse in a major way here. |

On the topic of celeb kids, I think Maya Hawke (child of Ethan and Uma) hit the lottery in terms of inheriting her parents' looks. It's kind of bizarre to think she's five or six years older than Michael Douglas's kid. As for Carys, I think she's normal-pretty, and I agree that charisma is the big separator between her and her mom. Who knows, maybe she will grow into that. |
