You know, I really don't know about Dunbar. We watched it as well of course. One thing with UCA is that compared to some other companies, they are more traditional. So if you go with a clean routine that is maybe more simple than someone else's who is more innovative and difficult but they don't hit, then you can and most likely will win. I was shocked this year because there is a Middle School from Memphis called Mt. Pisgah and they ALWAYS win, I mean always. And they literally do the EXACT same routine every year, right down to the exact same music. It's so annoying. But maybe UCA is getting sick of them skating by with the same old same old because they got third this year. They did have a fall which is rare but it is really irritating to watch them every single year do the exact same thing and win. it's very discouraging for the other teams. I will have to go online at varsity.com and watch Dunbar's routine then maybe I can say, but I haven't watched it yet.

What did you see in Atlanta? Was it more of the same as UCA?

Nope, Atlanta was Cheersport so I saw a lot of little girls running around looking like hookers. I hate to say that but the uniforms have gotten so insane. The skirts are so small that people need a bikini wax to wear them and the tops come right up under their boobs. Like cheering in a bathingsuit. As far as cheerleading, there were 756 teams there and i have to say I saw very little, much less then at UCA. There was just so much walking involved and the place was gigantic. I did see some great Open Coed Level 6 teams which is sort of new to me, since they are basically age 18 and up all-star squads. Amazing stunts, tumbling, and basket tosses though.

Yeah, I hate those itty bitty uniforms. They have gotten ridiculous. I don't mind them as much on college teams, but I think it is horrible to have those younger kids running around like that.
One of the girls I cheered in college with just won NCA level 6 open.
How did your team do? Does Cheersport have a site like Varsity's? I would love to see routines.

Hey, our team competed in Small Senior Level 4 and we won our division. We actually got the highest combined score of any team from any level all weekend. Don't know how the hell THAT happened, but whatever! I forgot to mention when I was talking about All Star uniforms. There was a senior girls team there called Savannah All-Stars Candy Girls and I do not lie, their uniforms were the freaking weirdest things I have ever seen. And their music was "Candy Shop" by 50 cent, "Candy Girl" by Jackson 5, and so on. Cheer SavannahGo to the pictures section. It's a freaking riot. As far as video. They have video at: Mr VideoBut its pay to watch. I bought the 120 webcast to watch but I also ordered the video so i should get that in about six weeks.

I looked at their current pictures and back at past seasons and all I can say about their uniforms is that they are bizzare and gross. I would never let my child go to that gym. However, the teams look pretty good, if not very oddly uniformed.

I know. I can't for the life of me figure out why the hell they think they need that as a gimic or something. Because I saw them compete last weekend and they were GOOD.

I just looked at some of the photos for the Cheer Savannah Minis and Tinys, and I have to say that they are rather disturbing.

What's up with the Minnie Mouse skirts? My high school coach would have definitely had qualms about wearing some of those outfits while stunting.
I really didn't know whether to laugh or cringe. Check out the tryout results page if you want to see some really kre8ive spellings, too. I mean, Saylor? Cea-Cie?

The UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships are airing this Sunday the 2nd on ESPN2. I think they start at 2 p.m. Eastern. The dance championships are on a little earlier I think. Just in case anyone is interested!
