It's being said that Princess Anne made the comment about the baby. That news is from Lady Colin Campbell (who I've never watched or read) but I assume she wouldn't lie about it (and about having sources) in case she was sued? Because that's a big allegation.
Anyway, apparently Anne told Harry that Meghan was unsuited for life as a royal and that her culture and background would only create problems for the marriage and any children born of the marriage.
LCC says Anne meant Meghan being actress, being American, and being...well Meghan, was what made her unsuited, not her race. But that's how it was taken and distorted.

Lady Colin Campbell wrote a book about the Queen Mother where she claimed, among other things, that she was illegitimate and the daughter of the Glamis castle's cook. And Lady Colin thought that Edward and Wallis were just awesome people who would have saved the Empire.* Also, she was married to Lord Colin Campbell for 14 months over 40 years ago and still runs around calling herself Lady Colin.
*One of her sources for the book was her ex's stepmother, Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, who forged letters questioning the legitimacy of her husband’s sons from his second marriage, and who was divorced in a massive scandal in 1963, complete with nude photos of her fellating an unknown man who was definitely not the duke. Not exactly Ms. Reliable.
In short, if Lady Colin told me it was Tuesday, I'd check my Mac, my phone, and the calendar before I believed her.

Side note - one of my greatest disapppointments in life is that Glamis Castle was closed to visitors the day we tried to visit. That castle has the BEST ghost stories!

My first thought was oh poor Anne is the family’s sacrificial lamb is she? My second thought was that Lady Colin has about as much insight into what is going on with the BRF as I do!

Apparently that's why Wallis called her Cookie? I didn't know where it had started though. Thanks for the info on LCC.

I've heard that rumor! Apparently that's why Wallis called her Cookie? I didn't know where it had started though. I had heard that Wallis called the then-Duchess of York that because she (Elizabeth) was plump. It was a reference to her weight and supposed eating habits. That Wallis, what a peach! /s IIRC that reasoning was perpetuated in the movie "The King's Speech."

Wallis could be quite nasty about Elizabeth even before she married the Duke of Windsor as Elizabeth wasn't delighted about being expected to be friends with the Prince of Wales and later King's mistress, and after the abdication, she really hated Elizabeth. Of course, Elizabeth hated her right back, and would have done everything in her power to make sure that neither of them came back and gained any power in England. She blamed them for her husband's early death, and she would never have forgotten or forgiven.

In typing my earlier message, now I wonder if Elizabeth had to have the insult explained to her since the item Wallis called a cookie (as it is known in American English) is a biscuit in British English. That would have been awkward.

Why drag Anne into The Great Race Debate? I hardly think she gives a fuck about Archie nor Baby Girl Sussex. Why are people trying to find out who inquired about skin color??? They owned black majority countries for fuck’s sake! I guess for fun we could say Rottweiler Python-jawed Camilla inquired but what’s the fun in that?? She’s been loathed for sport for decades. Welp, at least the tabloids can milk this bloody for the next couple pf months until June drama...
