I read that her parents are religious fanatics and that her mother has publicly announced she is ashamed of Katy and that she prays for her every time she hears "I kissed a girl".

If that's true I can't hate on Katy, no matter how obnoxious she is. Must have been very hard for her to break away from that mindset and write the song she did, be it a novelty song or not. Hey Mrs. Parry, !

She is ridiculous. I don't know why her record company decided the world need an MTV-ready, rip-off version of Dita-Von-Teese-meets-Zoe-Deschanel to sing Cathy Dennis numbers. Like her mother, I pray for her every time I hear "I kissed a girl", albeit for entirely different reasons.
