And then, like the next day on "Kelly and Whoever", she told a joke about "acting like a retard". I really like Jennifer Aniston and I defend her on here as often as I can and I am always charmed by her when I see her on promo tours, but I honestly can't remember her ever being clever or even moderately funny on a talk show. I don't think that means that NONE of her friends could come up with "groom raider", but Chelsea Handler couldn't.
eta Topic? Uh, I thought she was great in "Big Little Lies".

I know I would LOVE to be at a party and end up hanging out with Laura Dern, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox. To a lesser extent, Chelsea Handler. Can you imagine the stories they would tell? And they do seem like they would be good (if sometimes annoying and needy) girlfriends to have. There for you through thick and thin and tabloid covers... ;-)

Topic? Uh, I thought she was great in "Big Little Lies". I thought she was stealth-amazing in BLL. Like, you're writing her off as this typically-hysterical type-A bitch, then in one single scene, you're like, nope, that's exactly how I would react were that my child. It was truly like a light switch, how suddenly I *got* her. All the performances (save Shailene ugh) were amazing, but Dern gets credit for inspiring the rare audience 180. At least in this audience. |

Previously, the most witty retort I've heard Jennifer Aniston come up with was "Billy Idol wants his hair back" when Brad went blonde. She's a comedy actress, but she's never been a writer. She's good at business and flipping houses, but that doesn't mean she's witty. I've seen Aniston do a thousand TV interviews and all she did was clench her jaw and obsessively push her back from her face. She's had plenty of opportunity to make me think she's clever and can come up with a good quip, and she never has, so I'm quite comfortable saying she's no Oscar Wilde. Her husband, on the other hand, I have seen interviewed only 3-4 times and he has always impressed me with his wit, so I would believe it if somebody said it came from him. Or, as stated above, it could have been Chelsea Handler who is a professional comedian and should know how to write a joke. That would make sense since she's bizarrely obsessed with Angelina. Bill O'Reilly once claimed that Jennifer Aniston was "destructive to society" because she seemed so happy being single, and her movie coming out at the time "diminished men" (yeah whatever Bill, assholes like you diminish men). I liked her response; "Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth. And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who've not yet found their Bill O'Reilly, I'm just glad science has provided a few other options." Jennifer is and has been plenty witty but then I would say that; I am a fan. The woman has been a successful comedic actress for years. Even if she's not writing the movies she's capable of a frankly average joke. In any case I don't buy this alleged groom raider joke. Alleged. Because I know the idea persists that all Angelina "victims" sit around and vent about her. Meanwhile, they get married, have jobs, go on vacations, and in Laura's case take us all by surprise with unlikely hookups. |

She looked amazing. I'm so glad she won, she was amazing in A Marriage Story.
I can't stand Kaiser from Celebitchy, and she has decided that Laura Dern is her "nemesis," a trend started by Roxane Gay on Twitter where she roots for misfortune for people she's got a beef with (she never names who they are, though). Roxane has like 9 nemeses. So to be cool, Kaiser has decided that Laura just annoys her and she hates her. I guess Kaiser is my nemesis.
