I want to know where she gets her clothes. Not the bloomers (I know where to get those and have my own [edwardian] vintage--no, I' don't wear them) but everything else. Just click on any link of Mochakitty's and that's what I mean: the gray cotton skirt with tiny hint of red ruffle edging, white pinafore with the pockets, light-blue stockings, knitted "bakers" cap, etc. Can they possibly be costume pieces-things she's had, oh, Jenny Bevan make up just for her? Because if not who sells this stuff? I must know! Is Tim Burton "re-imagining" Whatever Happened To Baby Jane this week?

She really went down the Edwardian rabbit hole when she started living with(or next to)Tim, didn't she?
I saw her in L.A. during the Planet of the Apes days-there must have been some post or something filmed there, or perhaps she had a break from location--anyway, an attractive woman wearing jeans and a tshirt with her hair in a ponytail and a baseball cap walked up next to me at the Dr's office counter. I fleetingly thought "She looks like HBC" but of course didn't want to stare. Then she started talking to the nurse and I thought "Okay, it IS HBC". Point of the story is--she was dressed just like Jen Garner making a run to--well, the Dr's. She was very slim and as per usual with actors offscreen was much tinier than one imagines-especially her features, which were much more delicate than they look on film.
I know her current style singlehandedly keeps those back page "Fashion disaster!" people in business but hell, I love her neo-victorian/steampunk whites looks. I don't think she'd be improved by the tshirts and jeans at this point. But it's curious that she changed so radically after hooking up with Burton, isn't it? Makes me think of him as quite the Svengali.

Yup, she changed her look completely with Tim. She'd taken some fashion risks before but never into this cockney clown thing she's got going on now. The patchwork and knickers are twee on her baby but look downright demented on a grown woman.

I like to think that instead of Tim influencing her or changing her, she now has the confidence to go out there and rock the look she's always wanted to.

I'd like to think that no adult ever wanted to look like that.

I always thought she dressed like that before. I remember seeing some pics of her with her mother, and she looked like a quirky person also. I think Tim just helped her take out that quirkiness full force.

I love how one sock is down and the other is up. Those shoes look like Z-Coil's - the "pain relief footwear."

Can they possibly be costume pieces-things she's had, oh, Jenny Bevan make up just for her? Because if not who sells this stuff? I must know! If I were engaged to Tim Burton, I'd probably get my clothes directly from the costume designer, but if HBC wanted to buy off the rack, I'm sure she could find something in Japan. I'm thinking more mature and less costumey than the complete look of the core gothic-lolita brands, more along the Pink House line. And apart from the big pockets, her outfit could've come out of a Japanese sewing book I saw recently that had patterns for a whole wardrobe of loose, gauzy cotton separates including pinafore, bloomers, underskirt, and chemise.

She really went down the Edwardian rabbit hole when she started living with(or next to)Tim, didn't she? Yes, she's always been quirky, but it's not only her fashion that's changed, she's now I think very typecast by being in his movies whereas before Burton, I thought she was seen as being more versatile. Now she has this goth queen reputation which I guess works for her since perhaps she felt she was too typecast in those corseted dramas that she was probably most known for, but I really do wish that she would take a break from working with her husband for awhile. I also wish Johnny Depp would take a break from working with Tim Burton too because it seems so predictable now that Depp is going to be the lead in anything that Burton does now, and of course there will be a role for HBC, probably with her being all gothy. When the first still of Alice in Wonderland came out, I yawned because of how predictable it looked. I think it would help everyone all around if they just took a break from each other for awhile because maybe it would help recharge their creative batteries, so they don't keep retreading the same material.
