I will always love her because of the movie Lady Jane. I loved that movie. Cary Elwes wasn't bad in it either.
I always had the mistaken idea that she was some reserved brit due to her appearance in all the period flicks but it turns out that is not the case.

She had the most beautiful hair. Anyone remember that long, thick curling mane of hers? Now it's a cut off, jacked up mess.

She looks and dresses like she's completely bonkers. Probably the best thing about her is the material she provides for the Fug Girls.

She cracks me up too. With some people who dress terribly, you can tell they're trying to look good but don't realize how they really actually look. With Helena, I think she's aware that she looks like an overgrown four-year-old ragamuffin, but she likes looking that way.

She seems wry, funny and smart in real life, if not a tad innappropriately dotty, but I never liked her as an actress.

Mr. ShawnaLanne and I were talking about the British history of the eccentric and I thought about her. She just seems to revel in being a bit off. Also, her look was very 'in' in the alternative music/dress universe 15-20 years ago when she was in her prime. I think she is an example of someone who doesn't progress fashion wise past a certain age, like all the dieing off blue haired ladies. |
