I think she's just doing her own thing. Lots of people have dreads--although maybe not in Hollywood. I think she doesn't fit the mold we're used to seeing of LA moms. And she's had the nose piercings, etc. for years... I like the fact that she's different... not 100 pounds and carrying around a $2k purse, gushing about her fab designer. Totally, YMMV. She looks like someone I would see pushing a carriage in Brooklyn; the fact that she's made her way in Hollywood, on her terms, is impressive, IMO.

I too like how she does her own thing and doesn't seem to be caught up in the Hollywood crapola. I have no problem with how she dresses or her hair (since I have locks too) there's just something about her face that's very skeletal and vacant.

She looks fine to me. Aesthetically, she just looks less like Hollywood and more like a hippy college professor or artist or something.

I love her look. She is different. She and Cree Summer have that bohemian, artsy style that I think is really cool. They seem like true hippies, along with Lenny. I can see them all in a small gathering sitting around on the floor smoking, barefoot, cross-legged with incense burning and hippie beads hanging overhead.

The producers didn't make him wear it, they actually wrote a scene to explain the new haircut. The network made the production use the wig. /sgdork
