After talking with Ryan Seacrest this week, she's said that they are no longer an item and her next relationship won't be so public.

Soooooo she thinks she's gotten enough mileage out of Come and Get It to make it on her own now. I don't know about that. As a performer she's pretty bland. Come and Get It isn't a huge hit because she's singing it. It's a hit because it's catchy and well produced. I don't think Selena has the charisma or a unique enough singing voice to have a successful Rihanna style career. I've never seen her acting so I don't know what that's about. Is she a better actress than she is a singer/performer?

I saw her on Leno this week. Holy wow, she is boring! He was asking her about the type of house or real estate she liked. And she responded with "low key." And he was asking her to elaborate, and it got even more boring. (She likes ranches, but she also likes two story houses. In case you were wondering.) Then he asked her about turning 21, and she went on to say she was having an Egyptian-themed party. When he asked what that entailed, she couldn't really explain. Girlfriend has no charisma... or vocabulary.

I think she's much better as an actress than a singer, but that doesn't mean much. She's terrible as a performer. Her best bet to sustain fame would be to get on a CW or ABC Family show. She has no future as a singer.

Funnily enough, I read that Come & Get It was written for Rihanna originally, but she passed. Too bad because while I like Selena's version, she somehow doesn't "own" it the same way I think Rih would've.

I think she's definitely a better actress. She's got some good comedic timing, or better than most of the other Disney starlets, anyway.

I agree that her voice itself is pretty bland/lacking charisma, although at this point C&GI is the fourth hit she has under her belt (albeit the biggest).

Oh I don't know about that. My daughters, who are tweens, think Selena Gomez is the cat's meow. I mean, it just doesn't get any bigger or better than her, for them, right now. I see a concert in my near future...

I heard her on the radio in an interview with Ryan Seacrest and man, she was SO boring. I guess I expected her to be more witty and vibrant person like the character she played on Wizards of Waverly Place but either she's really not like that or she's hiding her personality.
