It's true love for True Blood couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. The two are engaged to be married, reps for both actors on the HBO vampire series confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.

Here’s what the 27-year-old on-screen vamp said about TV acting: “It never occurred to me that one form of acting was better than another. I think if you approach your career like that you’re limiting yourself to a very boring path. For me, it’s about the material.”

Her on-and-off-screen lover Stephen Moyer also had a few words about vampire sex: “The thing about vampirism is that it taps into a female point of view – you have an old-fashioned gentleman with manners who is a f—ing killer… it’s an interesting duality, because in our present society it would be an odd thing for a woman to say, ‘I want my man to be physical with me.’ How, as a modern man, can you f—ing work that? It’s one thing to be polite and gentle… But when do you know it’s OK to crawl out of the mud and rape her [as Bill does in one scene]?… It’s difficult stuff for a bloke, but a vampire gets away with it…. I think that’s the attraction of the show – it’s looking back at a romantic time when men were men, but they were still charming.”

The age difference between a 27 year old and 39 year old isn't that startling, but I was surprised to read that he has 2 kids. I was also surprised to learn that he wasn't married to the mom of those two kids. Not that it matters to me, but I wondered how he finally decided on marriage with Paquin but had not seemed to consider it with the mother of the 2 kids. I know people have their own reasons for how relationships work out and it's their own business how they chose to do things, but I just found it sort of interesting that he had had 2 kids with another woman, never seemed to entertain the idea of an engagement with her, and now has decided on a proposal to Paquin. If he had 2 kids with her, and not just one (which could have been a "surprise") then I suppose my automatic assumption was that it was a strongly committed relationship at one point that could have led to marriage. And since he has proposed to Paquin, then it doesn't seem like he's opposed to marriage either (which seems to be the case with some couples who choose not to marry despite having more than 1 kid together). Maybe some men really aren't interested in getting married until 40?

On another note, I still sometimes think of Paquin as that little kid who won the Oscar. So when she talks about having sex, it weirds me out a bit. I realize she's grown up now, but that image of her as a kid is still so strong in my head.

On Topic: I agree its a bit odd he is rushing to marry her and if they break up it does not bode well for the continued success of the show!

He has two kids, a boy and a girl, with two different women.
