What if it isn't them that is going along with the PR, but Lifetime stirring up the drama? Mama Spin suggested to me that maybe there was some obvious chemistry going on with the two, and thus prompted rumors of an affair.

Is it possible that it trickled down to the Lifetime execs who had an idea to try and start up some 'innocent' scandal and set this all up?

It's a long shot, but I'm starting to think that neither actors were directly involved.

I really don't know what would be worse -- "Hey I care so little about our marriage and children that I am going to pretend to have an affair so my Lifetime movie will get mad ratings," or an actual affair. Either way, if I am his wife, I would be tempted to beat him to death with a shovel.

I'm wondering if Eddie was even in on the stunt. He flat out denied an affair was happening. LeAnn was coy about it. You can't even tell if it's LeAnn and Eddie in the so called scandalous video.

Same here. She has real singing talent and didn't have to go down this road. It's very disappointing.

ETA: Spinderella, as I posted I think it's possible Eddie wasn't involved in this at all. But, sadly, I think LeAnn is involved. She's the one who didn't flat out deny an affair and has been having photo ops with her husband.

The movie is repeating right now, just FYI. I'm not really seeing massive chemistry but, yeah, LeAnn is a better actress than I thought she'd be. Not that I was expecting much. Actually, cancel that based on this next scene. This is just spectacularly lame on every level - sleeping with a married guy because your own husband is gay or trying to promote a cheesy Lifetime movie with a fake affair.

I totally buy the theory that this was cooked up by Rimes/Us Weekly and Lifetime and Eddie has no clue.

Ha! I'm watching it right now too. She's not that bad actually. She's not digging very deep, but she's not overdoing it either. Cibrian is massively hot. And lame as the publicity over this fake affair is, it worked on me. I never would have started watching this if I hadn't read the gossip on this site. It put this stupid movie on my radar. Not only that, but I see that the hot Ivan Sergei is in the Lifetime movie appearing next weekend. I will be watching that too. Heh. I guess I'm as lame as the people that cooked this scheme up.

If Eddie Cibrian isn't in on it, he and his wife must be ticked at Rhimes. Well, I would certainly be if I were the wife. I wouldn't want people thinking that my husband is a jerk, particularly if he's not.

The Ivan Sergei one isn't until April, sardonic. Next week is something else. Per IMDB, the last movie in this Nora Roberts collection whatever has Jason Lewis and Brittany Murphy, which would be a much more successful PR stunt, but I guess the "draw them into the first movie and then they'll stick around" strategy was the one they went with. And sadly, it worked on us. I'm telling myself that by watching the repeat and not the original, I'm not contributing to the problem.

She might have had an affair with someone else, and that's why her statement was so ambiguous. If it weren't for Us magazine, this wouldn't be a story. They created the scandal.
