Looking surprisingly badass in a pic from the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" movie. I strongly dislike the "racebending" of this movie, and I think the graphic at the top of this page sums up why. It's unfortunate because I liked DP so much in Slumdog Millionaire (actually, I thought he gave a really great performance and I was surprised to find myself in a minority when I started reading reviews/comments), and I'm intrigued that he would follow up such a good-hearted character by playing a villainous one.

(actually, I thought he gave a really great performance and I was surprised to find myself in a minority when I started reading reviews/comments) I know everyone freaked over how beautiful Freida Pinto looked and how cute those little kids were but I really felt that his performance kept the movie together. He didn't have much to do but what he did was spot on and seemed perfect for that character.

I completely agree. I know some people didn't like his performance, but I thought he did a great job and so much of the movie hung on his performance. If you didn't buy is Jamal or if you couldn't get behind him, then you can't really get that invested in the story. I thought he did a great job - especially for someone so young without a lot of experience.
But I adore this guy. He's the human equivalent to a sack of puppies to me. I thought he was so charming on the press tour for SM. And even though co-stars hook up all the time and it doesn't last more often that not, the fact that he and Freida Pinto are dating just makes me all gooey inside. I think they are super-cute together.

So they are really dating? Do we have proof? They are adorable together.
I am ashamed to say that I thought Avatar: The Last Airbender was a channel we have on Comcast for awhile, because when I flip through the channel guide, it is on all the freaking time on one channel, I guess some Cartoon Network offspring. I thought it was like a history channel about war, don't know why.

Well, eight years later, Dev is now an Oscar nominee at the age of 26. I'm beyond thrilled for him, even though I haven't seen Lion yet, as it will be released here in Germany at the end of the month. I'm watching this 30-minute interview with him now and he's so sweet. Not sure about the facial hair he's sporting at the moment, but he's grown up quite nicely ;-)

He should never cut his hair. He was always cute but the longer hair takes him to a whole other level of hotness.

Won a BAFTA last weekend for his role in Lion. I know he's not going to win the Oscar, but this is a huge deal and I'm really happy for him. The interview right after his speech (same link) is so cute, he's charmingly honest and and I find his humility a lot more authentic than, say, Redmayne's or Hiddleston's in similar situations.

This makes me really happy! He just seems like such a nice guy. Having said that, I may never return to this thread for fear of discovering he kicks puppies or eats babies or admires Trump.
