Oh god, Butch!
"I don't know who told them I'm a drinker! I'm not a drinker! I only do cocaine and marijuana!" Yeah, that'll get you approved to live in the trailer park. "Well, OK sir, cocaine and marijuana are fine, but NO DRINKING!"

I'm only familiar with Janelle from the tabloids and the few minutes I've seen of her mom yelling at her. Janelle and her mom make Farrah and Debra look like they have a beautiful relationship.
At some point Ryan's parents are going to have to face the reality that their son isn't interested in being a father to Bentley, and make sure to keep a relationship going with Maci so they can keep seeing Bentley despite his attitude. There are no signs that Ryan is maturing whatsoever. If anything, he's going backwards. Without MTV being involved he'd have given up long ago.

Ryan's mom looks like a big old enabler. She just sort of giggles and smiles at everything he grunts out. Or maybe she's just super camera conscious and wants to look cute. She's always all done up and bubbly. Ryan's the kinda guy who leaves behind a string of illegitimate kids .. just because he can, and people still think he's cute.
I hope Gary can get his shit together. There's gotta be a decent girl in Nowhere Indiana would will love a super chubby guy and his adorable daughter. And I hope he's moved out of that old bar, or whatever the hell he was living in. It was so cold and creepy.
Who got custody of all of Amber's jewelry? Damn that girl loves fake pink stones. She stuck one in every part of her body (yeah, eww.. I'm sure there were piercings we didn't see).

Well, this is a first -- I'm feeling sorry for Amber, I guess mainly because I know where her story will end. Something about her rehab stay messed her up. She seems out of it and overly sedated the majority of the time, like someone encouraged her to over-medicate to control her anger problems. Or maybe it was just a matter of being taken out of her comfort zone and feeling an overwhelming sense of inferiority while spending time outside of her little white trashy world. Whatever the case, she just doesn't seem to want to fight anymore, not even for herself. When she said "I don't know how to live life anymore" I found it very sad and honest. She's someone whose life would have spun out of control with or without an MTV reality show influencing her decisions, but somehow I doubt she'd end up choosing to give up on herself and just go to prison if it weren't for the whole reality star/high price rehab experience.
In other news, it's clear that Ryan's new girlfriend is a dickmatized, smirky dumbass.

Yeah, Ryan and his new piece are not going to be joining Mensa anytime soon. Holy crap that's a lot of stupid in one place. But they're pretty, so it's all OK apparently.
I don't really get why TWOPers hate Maci... what am I missing? Bentley seems like a very happy, sweet, well adjusted little boy. And Maci seems very loving and nurturing. Yes, she spends a ton of time curled up and whining, but that's what they all do because, you know, a camera crew is sitting in front of you telling you to start talking about your feelings. She needs to step up that school shit, but at her age, I get how kids screw up and regret it later.
Yeah, Amber... yikes. She's rockin' some serious mental illnesses, and that touchy-feely "rehab" did shit for her. You have to be pretty messed up to willingly take prison over rehab. I'd say that she hates Gary and that's her problem - but she started a fight with rehab people too! I don't think she wanted to be a mother at all, but felt trapped by the whole mess. This was an awesome example of people who should have picked adoption. Amber would probably still be screwed up, but at least no one else would be involved in it. I wonder if a little more "reality" would have helped? Instead of Malibu rehab, how about an Indiana detox, followed by a job at Walmart or something? These girls are all given a ton of money, no need to work, and they're mostly all messing it up badly (Catelyn and Tyler seem to be the exception with their trailer and clothing store jobs).

Yeah, I think the time in Malibu made her feel worse in that she had no one to relate to or see as a true inspiration. The rehab may have helped her let go of her fantasy that she was a "star," but there was nothing to replace that loss with. Her self-esteem seemed to be nonexistent when she got back to Indiana.
I can take a few guesses -- She's skinny. She has an adorable child. She has Kyle at her beck and call. She once had the coveted Ryan (Blech!).
One thing I've noticed about Bentley is that he tends to answer questions in the negative. He probably gets that from his negative-thinking dad, who likely spends what little time he has with Bentley saying things like "you don't really like preschool" and "you don't really like your house."

How awesome was Amber last night? She put on like 50 layers of lashes, took her downers, got into her Lincoln Continental (!), and drove and cried. Crying on the phone... while driving. And on whateverthehell comes out of her medicine cabinet. And then she blew off her child to look at some expensive house. And SHE wasn't sure she was going to like it. I guess it's good that she went to prison before all the blocks came tumbling down. When the MTV money stopped, she'd probably have to leave the house and car anyway (but not the lashes).
What was going on with Catelyn and Tyler and this fake, "We don't know our majors so we're dropping out of school!" fuckery? Everything everyone in that storyline said sounded made up.
And good God almighty, Farrah got dumped on national television! But what the hell is a "lone bird"? That's what she called that, gasp, childless woman who was a whole terrifying 51 years old.

Last night's ep was totally bizarro world. Lone bird? LONE BIRD?? Was she drunk in that scene, or what? Farrah's not the most articulate or polished or NICE person on the best of days, but she had total verbal diarrhea at that dinner. It was WEIRD. I secretly think they screwed for the first time on that trip and she sucked in bed (of course she did!) and that's why she got dumped.
And, yeah, Catelynn and Tyler took an entire semester off to perform (what should have been) a 10-minute google search? Catelynn said multiple times that she doesn't trust college counselors because they just tell you what you want to hear, or something to that effect, which, in my limited experience, could not be further from the truth. The whole thing was very odd and out of left field. It does demonstrate how little guidance and support they have, though. Tyler's mom tries to help, of course, but she seemed kind of clueless herself. (Or I could just be projecting my own experience as a-first-in-the-family college kid, who got little support from my own clueless and semi-resentful parents.)

No, Catelynn and Tyler and Kim were all clueless. I really felt bad for them. I do know that Catelynn was attending Macomb Community College at least a year ago, so there's that. I really liked Amber's hat. But not much else. That eye make up makes her look really weird.
