Do you think she would stay in a marriage and bear his children with all her money and she does not look that bad for a title of princess when the Greeks don't even recognize the royal family. I just don't think she would sell herself that short.

MC would most def. sell herself short. Or any other way she could to give credence to her superiority complex. I don't think I was being mean either. Just honest. And voicing what most ppl think when they think of MC and Pav. The Greek RF may not be acknowledged by the Greek people, but they are still considered 'royalty' in many European circles and - strangely - in the Almighty Press. It's not enough to just have loads of $$$ - that's too common. The real catch is a Royal Title!!! And bearing offspring w Royal Blood. Not that that sort of thing really matters anymore. But to ppl like MC and her rabid social-climbing family it still sorta does.
I will say one thing that I heard that sheds some light on MC as not totally selling herself out. I've heard this from several "friends in the know" on both sides of The Pond. Whether it's true or not, I don't know, but it's been circulating for awhile: before MC hooked up w Pav, word is that her "minders" were eyeing Prince Edward of England as a potential mate. The problem was/is that Edward is more prone to men than women and, as his wife, MC would have to be basically a "beard." She'd get the titles and the prestige and all the hoopla (not to mention being a member of the more infuential British Royal Family) but the marriage would basically be a serious sham. When presented with this reality, MC decided against it (unlike Sophie Rhys-Jones).
So who knows?

I don´t think she would give up her title either, but I don´t think they dislike each other, they look fine together and they have four(!) beautiful kids.

I think what they have is a marriage of convenience and a marriage where the benefit to them outweighs the negative. I think that they both get what they want so leave well enough alone. However, I doubt they're your average normal loving couple.
I think so long as they both continue to get what they want, they'll stay together.

Interesting point but when I think about it, most married couples I know, once they get past the whole passionate, fantasy part of the relationship which lasts a few years at most, end up being intimate companions/partners for life. I mean love tends to go from intense passion to a normal get along companion state (sometime getting along is difficult!). So, if MC and Pavlos never went through the whole passionate, romance novel, you are the only one for me and I'll love you sooo much till the day I die, you are my soul mate part of their relationship they are still probably at the state of where other married couples are at in their marriage.

Additionally, if they don't really love each other, they are great actors in their pictures and you never so much as hear a peep of adultery, flirtting, etc. and they are always together, which would seem strange for a marriage of convience. Now, you can't say that Alexandre or Chris Getty don't have a roving eye and there are rumours abound. I double MC and Pavlos being in the spotlight could manage to squech rumors if they really weren't in love and were entertaining themselves on the side.

Actually, I have heard about Pav cheating and MC looking the other way. It's pretty common knowledge in some circles. Smiling during a photo shoot doesn't prove true love. Doesn't prove anything, really, except they can act! I'm not saying they're not in love or never were in love. I'm saying that if Pav wasn't a prince and MC wasn't an heiress, I doubt they'd be together now. And true, you can learn to love someone. I'm sure the title and the $$$ help!

On the main page in the family section, Amelia B mentions that there was speculation the prince in that Plum Sykes' book was based on Pavlos. Does anyone know anything else about this? What was the character like in the book?

I think that the prince in Plum Syke´s book is a mixture of Emanuele Filiberto di Savoya (most him) and Pavlos (home and wife in Connecticut ). As an author she has the freedom to mix things up. Emmanuele Filiberto has always been so play-boyish!
