How ridiculous to curtsey to her and call her HRH!!!! Have you really heard about that? A funny story is the one when she came with a friend into a designer´s store in SOHO N.Y. She spoke french with her american friend because she thought that no one else would understand then. She asked the man in the shop if she could get a discount as she usually got in the designer´s showroom and when the man asked for her name she said "Mari-Chantal of Greece".The man had no idea whom she was so he said:"Oh I see, You´re from the musical!" (Grease). Would have been nice to see her face then.

MC is the ultimate famewhore. The Glucksburgs were deposed for a reason, they are unwanted in Greece and will never be reinstated. Once kicked off the throne, they became private citizens (not even citizens -Constantine's Greek passport was revoked).
Bottom line, there is nothing royal about them. There's no throne waiting for them in Athens. They are not in exile, as if it's a temporary condition. They are simply banished and as such, are commoners and deserve no royal title or treatment.
For MC to then identify herself as Marie-Chantal of Greece and demand anyone courtsey to her would be laughable if it didn't offend me and the rest of my Greek family.
I'm glad to know she's jealous of other commoners who married into seated royal families. May her greedy, pathetic life be spent with her nose pressed against the glass like that. ;D
I'm sorry if I sound harsh but I make no apologies for my complete contempt of these so-called "royals" who represent nothing of Greece or its people.

LMFAO!!! These posts are WAY too funny. What a stupid cow MC is!!! I actually did hear about her having her staff call her "royal highness" (sounds VERY Princess Michael if you ask me) and I did hear about MO's preschool name tag AND the "Grease" comment. What a dultz. All they're doing is grooming their children for massive humiliation. Can you imagine the 4 of them when they get older trying to pass themselves off as "princess and princes" of a long-forgotten reign. Once that leech Constantine dies off, forget it. MC and the rest of that money-grubbing lot won't be taken seriously. She's so damn pretentious it's sick. She needs to remember where her (and her mother's) roots come from. And I don't mean the stripes on her big fat head.

Yes, MC must be pea-green of envy when she thinks of Cp Mary, Maxima etc... And they must laugh when they see her efforts to play a HRH!

Rachel, Angel: you make excellent points!
How many future generations do these royal wannabe's believe are deserving of a title? Are their children's children going to be "royal" too? When will it end?
Frankly speaking, if the reports are accurate, the only royal thing they are grooming the kids to become are royal pains in the ass! Think of it: if you demonstrate to your daughter from a young age that she is special or different or remind her that she has a title like princess that her friends do not share, what are you creating? If you put that title on her ID tag when she's a little girl, what kind of personal values and ethics will she be learning on her way to adulthood? She's a bitch in the making, with a sense of entitlement that will make her positively unbearable. Multiply that by four kids and your family becomes a weapon of mass destruction.
I think of Diana and how she was instilling in her boys a sense of humility and caring for the common people. Whenever they would try to evoke their princely entitlements, she would cut them down to size and remind them that a title doesn't make them better, just different. For all her faults, she set a standard that others in her position (or those who wish they were) should follow. It's an anti-"royal" attitude that made her more regal than the rest of them.
MC, who married an ex-prince, is trying to surround herself with the trappings and protocols of royal life but she lacks the class and dignity worthy of any title she aspires to embody. If you have to demand respect from others, then you never deserved it in the first place.
Her behavior is common. No amount of reinstating will ever compensate for that.

Okay, I'm late to this thread and an ignoramus to boot. What about MC's behavior is common and/or arrogant? Details and dish, please!

I discovered MC last year by watching the Danish royal wedding; I never saw her before. My first thought when she and Pavlos made their way to the chuch was : "Who is this woman with such a fake smile?"
Then, once sitting in the cathedral, she seemed to be totally bored at first, then she made a long face when the bride came in...that's why I can believe the story about her saying bad words on Mary.
I'm waiting to see her behaviour when King Constantin dies. Do you think she will command her staff to call her "Your Majesty?" ;D

I saw her at Harrod's with her passel of children a few months ago. Very skinny, very blond. very conservatively dressed - jeans and prada flats, some sort of jacket-top. Her kids were suprisingly not all that well dressed, very plain - I would have expected them to be wearing some sort of Oilily-type ensembles. Her taste seems contrived to me - the decor of her London house that Moldy Tofu posted on the main site looks like a 70 year old woman's parlor. She must have consulted with a royal stylist.

"The thing is, it's unlikely that when Konstantine dies Pavlos will take the throne. The reason that Konstantine still calls himself King is because at one point, he was King. Because the family is now deposed and there's no more royalty in greece, when Konstantine dies, the "throne" is empty and stays that way until such a time (i.e. never) that the monarchy is reinstated. It's not like in countries that still have monarchies where the title passes automatically on death. "
I think that Pavlos will declare himself king after his father dies, mainly since most deposed royal families usually do pass down the title in case they are reinstated. I doubt the Greeks would be the type to reintate the Greek royals since they are not marrying Greeks and I believe Marie Chantal would get so out of control in her arrogance. Besides, Marie Chantal looks like a bleached blonde movie starlet, not like royalty.

Oxynia - your comments are spot on. And entirely consistent with those of all my Greek friends.
By the by, saw her and her husband the other month at my local cinema. She looks like your average Sloaney 'yummy mummy', i.e. trying very hard to look like the former at the expense of the latter. Very committedly beige and in desperate need of protein. Her husband is remarkably tall and quite bland looking in reality. They queued up for their tickets just like the rest of us polloi and she ignored him jabbering on her mobile the entire time. He just looked like he somewhere very far away. They did not look happy.
..my brush with pointless.
- edited because speling, grammer and syntax are our friends
