Burn down the house!! I'm sorry, I know some people think all creatures are wonderful, and it isn't the animals fault, but I cannot abide mice/rats/snakes. That's a Babycakes shaped hole through the door type of situation. That line made me giggle for some reason. For that. I had to link to this picture. I keep hearing Doc Baker's voice from the ep of Little House on the Prairie with the anthrax-rats or whatever it was: "Burn this place to the ground!" I, too, have a deep fear of rats that I finally got over, but something like this (or that ep of LHOTP) would be enough to bring it back with a vengence. Gah!

Matt Paxton has been discussing this episode on Facebook. One of his quotes:
Also this, he posted this on the Possum from Hoarders page:

One thing I don't get about the bunny house - couldn't the landlords sue the hell out of that couple for treating their house that way? I would hope there was something in the lease about the condition being kept up. The thing should be demolished.
And I had total rage for Gary when he was ranting about how he should be able to do what he wants in "his" house (paraphrasing) -- it wasn't even his house!!
I have no words about Hanna. Dysfunctional family is right.

I love how the Possum has become almost officially part of the show.

The way it played out, they got their house cleaned for free, Gary and Kathy keep paying them rent (no way they'd get new tenants anyway), they can get estimates on the damage, and they can proceed with a legal eviction.

Same thing with bugs. Like that old jokes says, " You see a roach crawling on you, it's enough to make you drop a baby and take off running."

I'm fed up with Dr. Robin Zasio (aka Dr. Tonya Harding, tm TWOP). She is a terrible therapist and actually ends up enabling these fools, IMO. She disgusts me, too. She's a lousy therapist and seems to be on the scene only to amp up the drama. I'd had it with her after one of the first few episodes this season where she was all, "I think I'm going to call CPS!" on the Hawaiian family. There were kids living in all kinds of squalorous conditions way worse than those kids, but to ratchet up the DRAAAAAAAAMA, she pulled out the CPS card -- and made things way worse with the parents. On a petty note: Get a haircut lady. And Gary and Hanna STILL make the rat hoarder from next week look sane. ETA: Someone on TWoP posted that Hanna's nephew posted on the A&E Hoarders' Facebook page that Hanna was in the hospital with congestive heart failure. It's my hope that they have her warehoused in a totes container where they throw food on her head from time to time.

When Hanna said that she had 16 children, 10 living ... it immediately reminded me of one of those freaky cases of babies dying and being buried in the garden. But with a mother like that, I'm sure they did themselves in in one form or the other.
Oh Lord, RATS. I couldn't even handle the bunnies. And the mice that Dorothy found "funny" freaked me the hell out too.
I'd like to see them follow up on some of these cases. Is it really possible to cure this fuckery? The hoarder that I knew never changed. She never got help, either... and she was not nearly to these insane, disgusting levels. But she still never stopped the behavior.

Hanna, her family, the goats, chickens and ducks could have definitely been an HBO mini-series. Gary and Kathy, the rabbits and their landlords would have made a really interesting episode of "Wife Swap". These were the two worst hoarders to put on a single episode of television - so many questions unanswered...Did all of Hanna's living chirruns show up at the taping? There was something about her grandchildren calling the one daughter that showed up out of the blue. Maybe they brew meth in the barn and that's why she freaked out when they went near it. Or it has the fridges full of her other six babies.

Just bumping the thread to remind everyone: RAT HOARDER TONIGHT! RAT HOARDER TONIGHT! RAT! HOARDER! TONIGHT!
Clear your schedules accordingly.
Edit: Jumped the gun. It's tomorrow. I'll take to my bed for the next 24 hours. *meek sigh*
