What the fuck are "marms?" "Mom arms?" But then they go on to say she's grossly toned? What?

If I had to guess, I'd say "man arms," but I'm not fluent in crazy. I like that Kelly Ripa hasn't had a boob job. You know that if she'd gotten Pamela Anderson balloon boobs the TWoP posters would be ripping her to shreds over those.

The people over at the Criminal Minds thread have started up their own version of a "Meet Market" section. I never go into actual Meet Market threads for other shows, because I personally find them boring, and where the majority of posters are concerned, I'm not interested in them as people. Okay, that sounds mean, but come on, I'm on the thread to discuss the show, I'm interested in what others have to say about the show, etc. But I really don't need to hear your life story, or how you're a genius. Unfortunately, since CM only has the one thread, I can't just skip the "Meet Market"-ish posts altogether, so I find myself scrolling past large chunks of text instead.
I don't really want to narc on the OT-ness of the posts myself, but I'm secretly hoping that a mod comes in and says something. These "all about me" posts are about as interesting as the old "games" that they used to play in the CM thread instead (those of you who frequent the TWOP Criminal Minds thread have to know what I'm talking about) -- before a mod put a stop to those as well, lol.

God, I hate it when they start playing games in a thread for a show that only has the one thread, then act like the person who wants to have an actual conversation about the show is the asshole.

Heh, yeah, when the mod came in to the Criminal Minds thread and put the kibosh on the games, IIRC the person whose idea the games were got somewhat sulky about it. The mod's stamp of (dis)approval also caused a few of us to come out of the woodwork and admit that we had never liked the games; we just had never said anything before lest the other posters bitched at us.

I have a hard time with shows that only have one thread because they tend to be super repetitive as well. The "Greek" thread over there was consumed, for weeks on end, with pure hatred for Rusty's girlfriend. Every other post was about how Jordan needed to go. Then she went away to New York, and every other post was about how great it was that Jordan was gone. Then the next week they showed her via Skype video chat and every other post was, "waaah, why did Jordan ruin an otherwise perfectly good episode?"
After Pushing Daisies was cancelled and relegated to a single thread, some posters instituted a series rewatch, and after every episode the same poster would write a looooong, detailed post about why Chuck was soooo awful.
I guess both of these can be filed under "unexpected vitriol for female characters" as well.

I've been reading the Dancing with the Stars recaplets and the Dexter recaps and I have found at least one mistake in every one. Even using the wrong name. Did the editors leave with Wing, Sars and Glark? At least when they were around, you would never see that kind of lax work. The site always looked professional and was well written and proofed.

That's what I've been wondering. Every recap I read has a mistake in it. But I've noticed that other people put in little editorial asides (the way Wing and Sars used to), so I'm assuming that they are the editors. The extremely shitty editors.

I talked to someone a couple months ago who is a semi-big wig in the blogosphere, and he met Glark and Wing Chun a little while ago at some sort of business thing. According to him they regret selling TWoP and are disappointed with what it's become.

I guess both of these can be filed under "unexpected vitriol for female characters" as well. You can add several posters in the FlashForward forum, who have been carping on the "douche" moment in the most recent episode for pages and pages now. The character, Maya, watched a man hit on her girlfriend. After he walked away, she muttered "douche" under her breath. Apparently this makes her a frosty, uptight, unlikeable bitch who confirms the "lesbians hate men" stereotype. Meanwhile, a male character openly admitted to causing the central calamity of the show a few episodes, and people can't wait to see more of his awesome self!
