I put Anna's death on Bonnie - she died because Bonnie said she'd de-spell the device and didn't, which led to Anna getting captured. That's not to say that I don't understand why Bonnie made the decision she did. But I do think she holds more responsibility for Anna's death (well, you know, aside from Uncle John) than Damon.
Actually, I think I'll choose to blame Jeremy, because Anna wouldn't have died if she hadn't been trying to save his boring old ass.

Haha, true. Although, I think part of the reason Bonnie decided to fake de-spelling the device was because she thinks Damon's just no damn good (well, that and the fact that the tomb vampires were free).

If Bonnie had reversed the spell, I think there would have been a whole lotta hurt on the Tomb Vamps part. But I still think Bonnie doesn't share things when she should and then drama ensues.

Just something random as I was rewatching the latest episode - did it bother anyone else how mean/bitchy Elena was towards Anna? I get that Elena was worried about Bonnie and that Jeremy was cheating with a ghost, but maybe someone should have let Elena know that the only reason Anna was dead was because she tried to save her dumbass brother's life. I mean, we know that Elena doesn't really give a crap about people dying unless those closest to her are involved. (Typing this out, I realize just how bitter I still am over Anna's death, lol.)
Oh, totally. That's what I meant when I said that I could understand why she made the choices she did.

Please explain to me like I'm a golden retriever: what was Bonnie pulling out of the fire at the end of the episode and what is the significance, if any?

It was the (original witch's/Elena's) necklace. It either wasn't destroyed, or it was reconstituted by the Orig. Witch on the other side (or maybe indestructible?).

I think since it's tied in to Rebekah that where she's indestructible, so are her personal trinkets of magic?

Did I hear correctly that next week is the "mid-season" finale? Every other episode has seemed like a mini-finale.
Very interesting backstory on the Originals.

missed this episode as I had to go to a cookie decorating class (not that I minded ). Was this a good episode tonight? It wasn't like other episodes, IMO. It was a lot more back story and dialogue than actual "action" and whatnot. But it was interesting to have the different stories tied in together. And my hate for Klaus has grown.
