It’s hard to say for me. Hope would have a reason to always be at the school if she’s an orphan. Damn. This is going to be sad regardless of who dies. I wonder if both Klaus and Elijah die. I don’t think it will be just one Original.

Still don't see why the twins couldn't have done it again and just put it in Elijah and then let Klaus live and let Hope not be an orphan. Meh.

Klaus had barely matured over the course of the series. He’d killed so many people that the only redemption for him lay in a supreme act of self-sacrifice.

Yeah. I get the “meh”, biondetta. I had a similar ending thought. It’s how I felt after TVD. Still bitter actually.
This ending I was okay with though. Klaus was truly awful most of his life, and Elijah was only a little better, but his raison d'etre was Klaus so he went away too. It made sense with Hailey gone.
The actor that plays Elijah can always make me cry, and the minute he broke the stake in two I cried out because I knew what he was doing. The one that surprised me was Rebecca though. She had me in sort of happy tears. After all those years, she will get her human life. And in 100 years, all of the Originals will be dead. No one is meant to live forever, I guess, even in fantasy.
I’m actually going to miss these characters. I’ve been watching them for around a decade after all, and it was TVD that kept me around as a Greecie in the beginning. It’s been one heck of a run.

Will Kol not still be around? I can't remember what happened with him. Did Davina bring him back, but not as a vampire?
I do like Vincent, Freya, and Keelin being a family of sorts. So Keelin and Vincent supply the eggs/sperm and Freya carries it, to get the full witch/wherewolf combination?

I may be mistaken on Kol. I thought that he was human now for some reason, but I could definitely be wrong about that. On the Freevin baby, I thought that Keelin was excited about having kids now because there was a way without passing on the curse. To me that meant Freya’s eggs/womb, but once again I could be very wrong.
I was watching the Afterbuzz review of this episode, and someone mentioned that Hailey would not be happy with Elijah killing himself because she asked him to take care of her daughter if she’s not around. The hosts also said that this was the ending that Plec wanted for TVD: Stefan and Damon going out together. Since she didn’t get to do that with TVD, she did it with TO. This might explain why it’s not sitting well with everyone. Switching the endings would have made more sense in terms of story, I think.

I felt like the ending was a little anti-climatic. It tied up loose ends so perfectly, but yet could have been handled in a totally different (and better!) way.
I'll never get over the over-abundance of "The Cure" and "The White Oak Stake" which are supposed to be pretty much extinct. It's just a little too convenient that they were both available at the same time. When I heard about "The Cure" for Rebecca I was thinking, "Oh good, that old chestnut."
Klaus was awful for sure, but it finally had purpose and opportunity to be with his daughter who will now be an orphan. Elijah was just so terribly depressed and wanted to be with Hayley. But alas, I read that the actors didn't want to continue with the new Legacies spinoff; not even Caroline. I wonder if we'll see Rebecca and Marcel live in Mystic Falls sporadically for the spinoff, but you never know.
I thought that Kol was mortal, but then isn't? Like he has something (witch powers) keeping him still in the supernatural world. I kinda lost interest in that whole storyline.
But since Elijah and Klaus both died, don't like a zillion of vampires die because Elijah is gone? I know that Davina severed Klaus's sire line, but Elijah's was intact, so Marcel giving all those vamps train tickets (!!!) outta NOLA seemed a little bit premature since I'm sure they're going to be wiped out by the episodes end. Sometimes I think the writers forget their own made-up conditions. (But I still love you CadlyMack!)

Yes, the “White Oak” and the “Cure” are the perennial deus ex machina of both TVD and TO.
I also lost interest in the Kol storyline which is why I don’t remember much about it.
I don’t blame the actors for not wanting to continue with these characters. They often get screwed over for a show favorite. Who needs that crap?
I’m not sure on Elijah’s sire line. A lot of them (The Strix) are already dead so it might not be that many in number. Klaus was a lot more careless with his progeny.

This whole season felt anticlimactic. They just weren’t able to generate much suspense with another Hollow storyline when the first one wasn’t that memorable to begin with. Hope shouldn’t have been the one threatened since there was zero chance her character would be offed due to the spinoff.
