They never showed Diane grabbing the email but that was the implication. Kalinda was able to get real proof but hadn't deleted the fake evidence yet and that is what Diane submitted. I was confused that Peter had set up the judge to be delayed? I guess that was the only way he could help Cary. But how did he even know that they needed to stall? I guess Alicia told him at some point? Cary's face when the charges were dismissed. Matt Czuchry has been killing it this season. I covet all of Alicia's wardrobe but especially that red trench coat at the end. Yes, Diane pulled the fake evidence off of Kalinda's computer before they knew that there was real evidence, although why Kalinda didn't tell them about the cop didn't make much sense. I was also a little surprised/confused about the delaying of the judge by someone associated with the governor; it was unclear whether that was Peter taking initiative, or I wondered whether Kalinda had called in the favor. Someone needs to tell the writers, directors, and cast of The Good Wife that the prison is Stateville, not State sville. I grew up near there, so it was like fingernails on a chalkboard every time they mispronounced it.

It was such a good episode. I only wish Matthew Goode was in it more. DA, don't take him away!!!!
Cary and Diane were great in the final scene of theirs. I also liked Alicia going after Peter during the mock debate. So deserved. And of course, all things Eli!!

Yes, Diane pulled the fake evidence off of Kalinda's computer before they knew that there was real evidence, although why Kalinda didn't tell them about the cop didn't make much sense. I don't think Kalinda had time to tell them in the mad rush before court. She had to be totally sure before switching the evidence so as not to implicate anyone else. I just watched the courtroom scene again, and the S.A. admitted they had new evidence via Det. Rodriguez that Cary was the victim of entrapment, but of course that was after Diane had already produced the fake evidence. And it was the fake evidence which really convinced the Judge to dismiss the charges. This will definitely come back to bite Kalinda and/or the entire firm in the ass. Fuck.

Last night's episode was solid. I loved it. Eli was perfection (as always).

I thought the episode was a mess. Seemed like they were trying to do a Very Special Episode about race relations, but it had no coherency. Still, even a bad episode is better than 90% of everything else on network tv.
It's ironic that Cary and Alicia broke off to start their own firm, only to have it look very similar to the old one. I hope Alicia wins the race and gets out of there.

But if she does that, it changes the entire dynamic of the show. Unless no one wants to continue after season 7, I can't see her winning.

It would change the dynamic, but not necessarily in a bad way. It would be Alicia and Finn on one side vs. Lockhart Agos on the other. That could be very interesting. It already looks like Alicia and Finn are going to hook up at some point.

I think the creators have said that they do want to end it after next season. Trivia: Up until season 4 the number of words in the episode's title was always the same as what number that season was. So season one all the title's were one word, season 2 two words, etc. Then in season 5 it changed and started going down again. So season 5 all the title's were 3 words and this season they are all 2 words. So season 7 would be 1 word again which would be fitting if it is the last season. If next season is the last season is Alicia in the SA's office it would set up lots of interesting conflicts and would have some symmetry as Peter was resigning from office of SA in season one.
I did think the last episode was a bit of a mess too. The race stuff was not handled well. When the ethnically diverse kitchen staff applauded after Alicia made some inspiring speech I cringed. And the whole argument between Alicia and Diane and Cary felt both rushed and like it came out of nowhere. Same with them partnering up with David Lee again. It does make sense that even as Alicia and Cary try and change their circumstances they basically end up as Lockhart and Gardner again. But it would have played better if they had actually had that as a sub-plot in the background all season. I know they had a lot off other stuff going on but I remember at the time thinking it was weird that we never really saw Diane and Cary's reaction when Alicia originally announced she was running for SA. I am hoping it was just a rare misstep. We are not getting another episode until March now.

Really? This is it until March? What's running in its place?
