Elin earns psychology degree with top GPA in her class, speaks at commencement ceremony: The full video of her speech is up. One funny part is when she talks about how much her life has changed since she began taking classes in 2005; she mentions that now she's a mother and a US citizen and also "no longer married", to much laughter and applause. Tiger and Lindsey and Elin are all getting along these days, so that's good for the sake of kids.

Good for her! I completely agree with her that an education is the only thing someone can't take away from you. I may not think that everyone needs an education in order to be successful in life, but I do think everyone should have one for the same reason that she does.

That's great news for Elin. I loved her speech. I'm glad that her life seems to be going in the right direction.

I really appreciate the way she has handled the last several years of her life. She didn't hesitate to make the best decision for herself and her children despite what must have been enormous pressure to stay in the marriage for Tiger's sake. She has truly risen above it all. Gwyneth Paltrow should take notes on how to properly "consciously uncouple" while keeping both your reputation and personal dignity intact.

This woman is just class all the way. My favorite part of her speech? Acknowledging her classmates and the daily sacrifices they made to obtain their educations, while recognizing that she was in a very privileged position while obtaining hers. She didn't have to worry about making a living, cleaning a home etc. She isn't standing up there with a "I am so much smarter than all of you" mentality.

I always respect anyone who acknowledges that he or she has certain privileges. I don't begrudge anyone of having a particular privilege or connection, but it's another thing to pretend that you didn't benefit from said privilege or connection.

Rollins College focuses on students that mostly are working full time jobs and can only take classes at night. This makes her accomplishment even more impressive, as well as her classmates, congrats to all of them, not just Elin.

I mean, not to take anything away from her, but she's worth $100m and it doesn't sound like she has another full-time job outside of being a mother. I'm happy for her, but not really impressed.

I should clarify sorry, she entered the college in 2005 just a year after marrying Tiger to continue her education with night classes, many women in her position wouldn't have done that, but obviously for Elin education was going to be a priority with or without Tiger in her life.
