The funny thing is that Yahoo had a story where he was joking about needing to avoid being photographed when laughing hysterically. However, he looked just as weird in the candid photo they ran with the story. I think he's weird looking and the hair just emphasizes it.

I caught him on SNL last night, and I find it completely offensive that the whitest kid in the world was talking and singing with an "urban" accent. Haven't white people (I being one of them) wrung every penny out of stealing music from other cultures? Well, at least he's being produced by a black artist (Usher).

He was also on "106 and Park", the flagship music program on Black Entertainment Television. He seemed completely comfortable and the audience seemed to like him. White kids of his generation relate more to the "urban" music scene than white kids in the past so I am sure that he has some affinity for the music.
He has stated, however, that his favourite music is "the classics": Boys 2 Men and Michael Jackson. I find him hilariously precocious, particularly as a 16 year old discussing the classics.
I assume that this was the music his mother (who is a young mother at about 33 years old) listened to through the 90's when those acts were big so it makes sense that Justin likes r&b and hip hop, however, he should realize that he doesn't have to emulate an "urban" accent to be accepted.

Oh Christ, I could be this kid's mother! How did that happen?!
I checked out a few clips on youtube and he seems harmless enough. His Beyonce obsession is quite funny.

I cringed when I read that. And what cemented it is that I cannot pick out any of this kid's music. *turns dial back to NPR to listen to the old people music*

Yeah, I feel old when I see all this Beiber fever. He is one of those singers, whose name I know, but I would be damned if I could identify a song by him.
I don't think he is emulating an urban accent. As a Canadian, I hear an American accent that bugs the hell out of me. I just attribute it to him hanging out with Usher and his people, living in Atlanta and he probably doesn't even realize it.
Now if you want to bitch about affectation, I would take it up with Drake. The fool grew up in Toronto, went to Forest Hill Collegiate of all places and speaks like an American.
