1996 article on Val Kilmer's reputation. It was definitely more than being "passionate" or "perfectionistic," he had a cruel streak. If he's in a better place now mentally then that's great, but yeah, he was definitely a grade-A dick back in the day. (Although the article is retroactively hilarious with its implications that not being able to do Batman and Robin was some kind of huge punishment to Val.)

I just watched Four Hours at the Capitol and I have a rage headache. The fact that so many of the insurrectionists are fine and happy with talking about that day--and still proud of themselves--made me want to vomit. Particularly ~fun was the guy who's a part of "Cowboys for Trump," who, after arrested, whined that he was "left in a cell for nine days and they didn't even let me shower. I believe in capital punishment, but this was above and beyond that."

Netflix popped a Frank Sinatra documentary into its suggestions and despite not having a particular interest in him, I put it on and was pleasantly surprised by how interesting it was.
In a way, it was more like a chronicle of the US from the early 20th century through to the end of the century, so much fascinating footage about major events and time periods as the backdrop to the stories of his life.
It was so engrossing, highly recommend it.

I watched The Janes:
It's pretty mind-blowing how this happened over 50 years ago and it's more relevant than ever.

Not sure where to put this, but for those that watched the documentary on Elizabeth Holmes called, " The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley", Holmes was just sentenced to 11+ years in prison, starting next year because she's currently pregnant with her second child. I can't even begin to imagine why she would have TWO children while she facing a significant amount of jail time if found guilty. Did she think it might garner her sympathy or did she truly think she did nothing wrong and would get away with it? I think it's probably both.

I haven't watched the Amanda Seyfried series because the documentary was enough for me. Definitely a choice to have two children as quickly as possible before sentencing. She did attempt to "plead the belly" in the sense that she argued her sentence should be home confinement because she needed to take care of her children. Doesn't work that way though.
