This is a more Thanksgiving, but I watch it around Christmas. But I love Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter, Dylan McDermott and Robert Downey Jr. It is my family.
Also, there is no limit to the amount of times I can watch White Christmas. I love every second of that movie.
My brother and grandpa used to watch the Christmas Story marathon all damn day, and I hate that movie. When my brother moved in with his partner, he bought him the leg lamp and it was included in their first Christmas Card together. So, while I hate the movie, I have some sentimental affection for it.

I went back a few pages to see if anyone mentioned Scrooged, and sure enough, Ripley did. I just watched this On Demand, and it's one of my favorites. After I finished watching it, I did a little research, and saw that it was critically panned. How can that be?? I remember that at the time a lot of critics and viewers thought it was nasty, negative, and smirky. After a decade and a half of "Bad Santa" and "The Simpsons" and Apatow films, "Scrooged" looks incredibly sweet in comparison. Ron Howard/Jim Carrey's "Grinch" made me cry. What a hateful, ugly, loud monster of a film. They've never made a movie of it, but I always thought that the winter/Xmas stories from "Little House in the Big Woods" would look great on film.

I don't know if ya'll count it as a holiday movie, but I do, and Edward Scissorhands makes me stop in my tracks no matter what I am doing. Oh, I just lose it at the end. I think I have already seen it at least seven times since the beginning of December on Encore of whatever channel plays it nonstop. Danny Elfman's score in that movie is my all time favorite.

I flove A Diva's Christmas Carol. It's such a gay, campy, OTT movie. Vanessa Williams is basically playing Wilhelmina Slater (I think bitch roles are her specialty), and Kathy Griffin is funny in it as well. Unfortunately, I only saw a part of it the other day on Lifetime, and the only other airing I can find is tomorrow (Christmas Eve) in the afternoon, but I'll be at work. (And no, I don't have Tivo.)

Now that it's all behind us, I just want to say that I gorged myself on A Christmas Story 24 hour marathon. If you add up what I watched in bits and pieces, I probably watched it 6 or 7 times.

On Christmas, we watched The Ref, Bad Santa, and a couple installments of 24 hrs. of A Christmas Story. It was fabulous.
ETA: Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd was on, too, and THAT is a good holiday movie.

THANK YOU.
For my money, Christmas movies don't get any funnier than National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. "We're gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye!" And speaking of....*sigh* do I LOVE White Christmas.
Still, nothing beats NLCV for quotes: "Merry Christmas. Shitter was full." "Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah."
Clark: Where is Eddie? He usually eats these goddam things. Cousin Catherine Johnson: Not recently, Clark. He read that squirrels were high in cholesterol.
Ruby Sue: Rocky bit my thumb. Him's nervous. Clark: Nervous or excited? Ruby Sue: Shittin' bricks. Clark: You shouldn't use that word. Ruby Sue: Sorry. Shittin' rocks.
"Every time Catherine would turn on the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for about half an hour."
Or when Aunt Bethany was asked to say grace and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Hee!
