I haven't really watched MTV in years..but I don't know why I had him pegged as 45 at most.

OT: Where's Tabitha Soren? I got my news from those two in my teen years.

I used to dislike Kurt Loder because he would always diss a band I liked.

But I remember watching The Week in Rock with him and Tabitha Soren.

I love me some Kurt Loder.

The funniest interview I ever saw with him was with Little Richard. He was waiting in some bar and Little Richard was running very late/potentially standing him up. Apparently MTV was footing the drink expenses and he was having one while waiting. Then another. And another.... the cameras were rolling through most of this, and he and the crew were obviously sloshed and taping the thing for shits and giggles. Loder was talking smack about random shit and the camera guy was giggling. Then Little Richard showed up-- and he's a guy that pretty much starts at half a bottle anyway... drunken Kurt Loder was seriously all googly-eyed like a baby who's amazed at their Mom's funny faces while Little Richard basically freaked out and was all weird. Through a lot of it Little Richard had his arm slung over him and at one point he made Loder sing Tutti Frutti. Man, that was the best interview... possibly ever!

My favorite Loder interview will always be the one with Madonna, which is then crashed by an extremely inebriated Courtney Love, who proceeds to make a total ass out of herself.

The best Loder moment was when he apparently upset Johnny Lydon.

OMG, please describe said Johnny Rotten moment! It sounds classic.

I don't agree that Kurt was in love with Madonna. He kissed her ass at times but he could be really snarky with her. In that infamous VMA interview he was clearly less than impressed with Madonna, who was PISSED when he invited Courtney to join them. He didn't seem to have much love/respect for either of them, which was hilarious.

Kurt seems like a cool guy to get a drink with. He seems serious but he'd probably be so much fun on a pub crawl.

I'd also love to have him on a trivia team. We'd win EVERY time.

I remember that he did an article about the Beatles for the one of the century-end Time issues. It was really good, as are his Grammy wrapups and Nirvana article on mtv.com.

It's been years since I saw it, jaghetersimon. But Loder remarked something to Lydon, who slammed down the microphone and said something like this "bleeping interview is over". And Loder was like, "Come on!"
