Seconding the Kate Winslet/Joaquin Phoenix stuff in Quills. The love triangle of pretty girl/man of the cloth/God gets me every time. Don't even get me started on The Thorn Birds. And even tho it's squicky, the Christian Slater/Valentina Vargas sex scene in The Name of the Rose also gets me for the same reason, but more so because I hear the last line of the film in my head.

Everything in The Unbearable Lightness of Being. The only thing that's missing is a threesome, but then the combined beauty of DDL, Juliette Binoche, and Lena Olin might have caused my head to explode.

And because I'm sick, I am fond of Gabriel Byrne and Katrine Boorman in Excalibur. Gabriel Byrne in full armor. Sigh...

I know it's cliche, but my favorite is Rhett carrying Scarlett up the stairs in Gone with the Wind, as well as the whole lead-up to that. Amazing.

Also, in Room with a View, the "Phaeton and his Persephone," the rustic cab driver and his rustic "sister". So sexay!

I might have mentioned this already but in the theme of Merchant-Ivory goodness, the scene in Heat and Dust where Shashi Kapoor and Greta Scacchi are kissing in the remote shrine...and he's fumbling with her George V era underthings...

The ear piercing scene's been mentioned, but another scene that gets me going from Girl With a Pearl Earring is where Colin Firth's character is teaching the ScarJo character how to mix paint, and she's trying to grind the pigment into a dust with this big rock or whatever...just the way he places his hands over her's, with the gyrating of the grinding rock thing and the sexual tension...man. I need to see that movie again.

Of all the great scenes in Maurice, the best were Maurice and Alec's love scenes, especially the first, when Alec snuck in Maurice's room-hot stuff!

What about the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Karen Allen is *tending* a wounded Harrison Ford? Oh, for the days of non-earringed, non-Ally McBealed Harrison hotness!
