Pretty Little Liars

This is the latest offering from ABC Family and it looks very grown up/Gossip Girl-esque. Plus it stars Privileged's Lucy Hale. It starts on June 8th and will air Tuesday nights. I think this could be a very fun summer series.

Pardon my double post, but I know we have some serious Charmed fans on here, so I had to post this.

I just saw that Holly Marie Combs is making her return to TV on this series! She'll be playing one of the girl's mother and it looks like she's going to get some legitimate screentime. Plus there are few more veterans joining the cast -- Chad Lowe and Laura Leighton. All our old favorites all grown up!

I get some Desperate Housewives vibes from the show as well. Probably because there is clearly some big mystery involved and there shades of, "You never know what is happening next door!" in the previews.

It looks like it could be a fun series though I do wonder how long it can last. Once the big mystery is solved the show might have trouble finding direction. Oddly enough, that's exactly what happened to Desperate Housewives.

I read the series this is based on and I am really looking forward to it. Some of the characters are more interesting than others, but the mystery is pretty intriguing. The last book comes out next week and hopefully the mystery will be solved.

I love Holly Marie Combs! I might check this out just for her benefit. But I don't know if I'm entire thrilled with the rest of the cast.

Eh, it's summertime. I could at least try, right? ;-)

I am going to watch, but I tried to read the first book in the novel series and didn't make it past the middle. And I read about 7 Gossip Girl books before I got bored and quit.

Is Bianca Lawson supposed to be high school-aged because she needs to retire from that age category if dude from Popular is playing adult roles.

I really liked the pilot!!! I'm kind of embarrassed, haha. I hope Hulu posts all the episodes as aired.

ABC Family.com airs full episodes, also, so you're good.

I liked it better than I thought. the script is way more natural sounding than any dialogue on Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Drat. I missed it. But I'm sure ABCFamily will repeat the hell out of it before its next airing. I'm glad it wasn't horrid!

Nitpick: I just checked IMDB.com, which says that Wren's last name is Kim. WTF? I haven't read the books, so I don't know anything about the characters, but is he supposed to be Korean in the books, or something like that? If he was, and the show decided to make him white (i.e. grrrr), then couldn't they at least have changed his surname? "Kim" is just too weird and jarring. It's not like "Lee" or "Park" which would be a lot more ethnically ambiguous.

Maybe they did change his name in the show - I can't recall if they ever mentioned it - and IMDB just has its info wrong.
