What does it say about me that I'm judging her just as harshly for "Marshall law" as I am for her very poor choice to endanger her ill father, who probably doesn't have as many options to get away from her as she does to self-isolate?

Years ago, she was involved in a custody battle with her son's father. IIRC, the father has full custody now. Which may be a good thing.
