I think the top was going to keep spinning, because he was still in limbo. We didn't see any "kicks" to get him out of the various dreams. His kids were still wearing the same outfits as in his memory and had not aged at all. He was able to see their faces, because he had released his guilt over Mal's death. I still see it as a happy ending.

I think Cobb << stayed in the van so he could track down Saito in Limbo>>.
I really liked the use of water << as the big feature of Limbo / dreamspace that doesn't have an Architect planning things out. The city that Cobb and Mal built for themselves, and Saito's fortress were built on the sea, and getting to that level involved having to struggle out of the surf to dry land>>
I guess the shortest way to sum up Inception is "A Jungian Heist Movie"...

I think the kids had aged. The little girl was definitely bigger and IMDb lists two sets of kids--one pair was 3 and 20 months, the other was 5 and 3 (the youngest boy, whose face we never saw, was played by a Magnus Nolan--Chris Nolan's son, I'm guessing?). The clothes were similar, but I think the girl's dress had white sleeves, and it didn't before.
I think the ending was more a rhetorical statement than an actual twist. More "what is reality, anyway?" than a "This isn't reality!" At least I hope so, cause otherwise I have to completely re-evaluate the entire movie.

I think the top was going to fall. You could hear it make a noise like it was about to topple over. At least I thought so. Anyways, I'm choosing to go with that interpretation because I'd hate to think ofKen Watanabe in limbo.
Also, I think one possible explanation for Michael Caine's character imploring Cobb to come back to reality was just him asking him to stop extracting. That is if the top does topple and they are in our reality. I'll have to see it again. Also, on a shallow note I believe more men should wear tailored suits if only once because damn those boys were looking fine.

I'm going to go see it. I like Nolan movies anyway, but positive Greecie reviews have convinced me.

Yeah, Nolan likes cute boys in sharp looking suits. At first I thought Cillian Murphy was Christian Bale. He looked a lot like Bruch Wayne in Batman.

Just got back from the theatre and this movie did not disappoint. I was also very happy with the movie audience I was with, everyone was quiet so we wouldn't miss a thing. I'll be waiting for the special edition DVD as well.

That said: I still hate Leonardo DiCaprio. Am I the only person in the world that thinks he can't act? You are NOT alone. Between him and Mark Wahlberg, I'd be hard pressed to tell you who's worse. Hated this movie. Too much telling (and telling, and telling...did they not employ an editor?), not enough showing. Was bored out of my mind. And could not get past Ellen Page who looked all of 12-years old and Tom Berenger who's so old. Plus, I kept getting distracted by how linear all their dreams were. Why was it just buildings and cities folding in on themselves and things exploding--where were the the random appearances of celebrities they've never met, flying cars, and unicorns? They're dreams, people...live it up.

Hmmm...maybe I should head to unpopular movie opinions? I thought it was meh. Maybe if I hadn't seen Shutter Island I'd feel differently about it. It didn't come across as fresh to me at all:
<< Leo? check Haunted by dead wife? check Lost children? check Fog horn soundtrack? check Is this really reality? check>>
That being said...can Tom Hardy and JG-L please do another movie together? They were amazing.

I'm still excited over this. Which is sad, because it means so many other movies have been really, really terrible.
