TTMR & I watched this last night, and parts of it were very funny, but overall, I could have missed it. I agree with everyone who pointed out that an actress who was equivalent to Jonah Hill's level of attractiveness would never be allowed to headline a movie.

Just saw this for the first time. Came here to find this thread to see what people were talking about when the movie came out. Two things:
1. The comments here about Jonah Hill. Totally agree but interesting to see given how much weight he recently lost. I wonder if he saw himself (or read comment similar to ones here) and thought "Man, I have to lose weight!!"
2. First time I saw or heard of Russell Brand was when he hosted the VMAs and was like "What the hell is that?" But I have to say, he was oddly charismatic and ever so slightly......hot...in this.

The movie's parts seemed to me to work better than the film did as a whole. I have to admit, I find Russell Brand oddly compelling in this role. He's just so unabashed. I wonder what it must be like to have that kind of confidence.
There are some funny jokes here (including Diddy's performance). I'm still sort of stunned at the brilliance of the music videos, particularly Jackie's "Ring Around my Rosie." That killed me: the song and the juxtaposition between dressing her up like slutty Marie Antoinette for a prissy song about anal sex was genius on some level. Didn't make it a great film, but I enjoyed it.
