Piranha in the top 10? Really, people? On the other hand, Inception still hanging in there? *fist pump* I had a blast watching Piranha. It's a cheesy B-movie that has no aim at pretension. Just a fun monster movie. It's gotten pretty good reviews at RT as well (something in the 70% range last time I checked). It's considered a BO disappointment though. Thankfully for the studio, the budget was low so they'll eventually recoup their cost. We're getting into the worst part of the year box office wise now with Labour Day and the doldrums of September.

The American did really well. Clooney is incredibly consistent at the box office. His movies do right around that number most opening weeks. Curious to see if it can match Michael Clayton's #.
Ben Affleck's "The Town" is opening in two weeks and has been getting good reviews. I hope it has a decent opening.

Really good results for The Town and Easy A. Not so much for Devil. Must be the taint of Shamalongadingdong.

I saw the trailer for that in the movies and people seemed to be into it until they mentioned M Night's involvement. Devil will probably turn a profit but it's not going to be a huge box office win for him.

The Wall Street sequel in particular missed out on some money by moving to the fall, instead of sticking with the spring release date. Also, Inception finally dropped out of the Top 10 in its twelfth week. Next week brings on Secretariat. Life As We Know It, and My Soul To Take, a horror movie in 3D.
