Last night in the scene in the woods I was actually yelling at the screen, Don't kill yourself dammit! You're the most interesting person on this damn show! Thank goodness for semi-feral dogs I guess.

Despite the appalling lack of Richard Harrow, last night's ep was pretty darn good. I have never, ever liked Juliette Nicholson in anything, but she was a perfect choice to play Esther Randolph (a fictionalized version of Mabel Walker Willebrandt (thanks, Ken Burns). I am really looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Loved the dirty diaper on the turntable. Also loved Nucky's "You and I have not seen each other since May 23rd of last year!" when Lucy walked in with the baby.

That was gold.
I actually like Julianne Nicholson, but I totally did not realize that was her. I knew she looked familiar but I just could not place it and freakin' IMDb doesn't have a full cast list up for the episode yet. Looks like an interesting character.
Margaret's scenes were so heartbreaking. I can't say as I blame her for stealing money from her mom to avoid getting packed off to a Magdalene asylum, those places were brutal.

Did anyone watch this week? I thought it was a finale (it wasn't)...wow. Wow is right. They usually save scenes like that for finales, which I suppose makes it more shocking. Though in a way I'm glad they killed off Angela. They didn't give her anything to do really so there was really no point in keeping her around. I just wonder how or if they'll be able to top that in the season finale.

It was particularly intense as <<<she and Jimmy had just had a sweet little scene earlier, where they both seemed to be trying to make peace with each other.>>>

Aaaaand the finale's tonight, guys and dolls! I think it'll be a good one, considering the last few weeks.

I'm pretty sure the season finale isn't until next week, so says epguides.com anyway.

Well they went there tonight, and Gretchen Mol is very good at being really, really creepy. So very disturbing and now she will be mother and grandmother to Angela and Jimmy's son.

Yes, we get one more week; couldn't be happier. I am not surprised about the mother/son scene; she's always been weird around Jimmy. One question, <<<was he struggling at first and eventually gave in?>>> I felt she was taking advantage from the minute she met Angela. Gross. I heart ached for Richard, doing all the cleanup.
For some reason, the <<<commodore's death didn't really move me>>>.
