The only thing I have a problem with are the scenes with stunt doubles. Surely they can do a better job than 'insert wide shot while double turns his head away' editing! It really takes me out of the show.
If Alex O can jump onto a wire while firing a pistol, can't they use him more in the fight scenes? Or at least make the cuts quicker when it's obviously not him!

Double post to ask, could Danno BE any cuter and more lovable? [/Chandler Bing] The look on his face as McGarrett drove away from his ex-wife's house was heartbreaking. Scott Caan didn't even register on my radar before I saw this show, but I love him. He's just a really natural performer -- I feel like I'm watching a real person, not a character on a TV show, if that makes sense. He also cracks me up the way he constantly talks with his hands because I know so many people who do the same thing.
Alex O'Loughlin's character, on the other hand, bores the hell out of me. I fast-forward through most of his scenes, sadly.
This show also needs more Daniel Dae Kim. I'm eager to get more backstory on him and the allegations about him taking drug money (isn't that what he was accused of? Maybe I'm just making that up). The writers are being pretty heavy-handed with the allusions to that, so it's inevitable. I think an interesting twist would be if he turns out to be not-so squeaky clean after all, but I doubt they'll go there.

They're doing better with Alex O's stunt scenes, yahoo. I really don't mind McGarrett's poker face in comparison to Danno - I think the actors play well off each other. They have much better chemistry than Alex O did with the Navy chick he was supposed to be semi-dating, zero charisma there. He and Danno should spend all their time together. I've never been one to watch a show only for the half-naked pretty people, but I have to say, it's certainly a plus here. Of course, I do like the stories and old-timey cop drama style, too. I'd be really sad if DDK's character turns out to have been corrupt in the past. He is so convincing about his innocence! Plus he seems the most professional out of the four. I was expecting Rachel to be more overbearing, but they went with the softer side. Scott Caan is terrific, and I love how sensitive he is shown to be whenever the scenes call for kids or spouses in distress.

I don't normally watch this show, but the only thing I'm getting from tonight's Open Water story is that a) Alex O'Laughlin and Scott Caan should be shirtless! all the time, and 2) these two really need to just do it! Soooo much bickering!

Soooo much bickering! I think that the show writers have decided that the bickering is their thing. They seem to have ramped it up lately. The show is so dumb, but I enjoy it.
