There's no way to know just who came forward about them dating each other. But as soon as the story broke, people were putting together pieces of nights they were seen in the same place a month earlier, so it's not like anyone ran to the press after their first date.
Even if it was from their own teams (which I tend to doubt), at some point celebs are better off coming forward with these things so they can start being seen together without it being a huge deal. She was at a few of his gigs and probably didn't want to continue having to play superspy everytime she went to see him.
Hopefully she won't run back to Nick for a 3rd time. I've never gotten past him seemingly dumping her in the middle of Oscar season because he couldn't "handle her fame".

Some of the tabs spun it that Nick couldn't handle her success, fame etc and tried to make it a jealousy issue. I always thought it was the increased attention that made him uncomfortable - from the fans, the paps and the media. I don't think he ditched her because she was too famous/successful for him.

Two kids and a very involved ex wife is a lot for a 24 year old to deal with. It's probably for the best. Yup, he was too old and had way too much baggage for her.

I imagine that Jennifer saw an opportunity to make a apparent teenage fantasy come true by hooking up with her crush. Chris probably wanted to date someone who can eat carbs without having an existential crisis. Both are understandable reasons. But not enough to make a relationship last in the long term. Agreed, angelaudie. I've been watching The Voice this season and thought to myself, "If I were on Gwen's team, and GAVIN was my 'advisor' - a team of wild horses would not keep me from tackling him in a highly inappropriate manner, even with his wife standing nearby." That being said - in no way am I prepared to be stepmommy to three young children. Topic: I am excited for Mockingjay.

Why do people think Jennifer Lawrence is some low-maintenance girl that eat carbs? No one at that level is cool and low-maintenace. And even if she is (which I doubt) why is that better than being on top of how you look when it's a big part of your job?
The part that bugs me about the fling with Christopher Lawrence is, in the real world when parents of young kids get divorced, they keep the non-serious relationships quiet, because the kids can't handle it. They don't splash it all over the tabloids. Of course, who knows how the bizzare celebrity world works.

In the bizarre celebrity world she probably is low maintenance, because she only has colonics once a week and eats a gluten-free multigrain breadstick on Thursdays. I do think they live in a strange existence, and I don't really understand why we* revere it, because it seems very shallow, juvenile and dull. I'd take the money and leave the fame any day.
*We being the public at large, not Greecies per se!

I think someone earlier in the thread got it right when they said JLaw is a cool, affluent girl who became famous. So basically, she is Gwyneth Paltrow 1995.

I would be put off by having his ex-wife introduce him at a benefit too.
Stand up for yourself, Chris.

I imagine the Mockingbird promo ramp up also has something to do with it. She's going to be on the road and hella busy. Why aren't she and Taylor Swift besties? Same age, similar backgrounds, similar levels of success...they could be each other's date to award shows. I'm going to start friend-shipping them. And possibly look for a life. ETA: re Gwyneth and Jennifer.... This and this is just a wardrobe coincidence, right?
