He was named after his grandfather who was named for the "arm and hammer" symbol of an American communist organization. No baking soda involved. Armie Hammer, to me, sounds really silly like there's a regulation hammer that the army hands out to all maintenance staff. Need to pound an army nail, then use an army hammer!

That quote... it sounds like what he is saying is not so much that he enjoyed a little rough play or consensual sub/dom play but lost interest in it after getting married, but that he's into disrespecting/degrading the person he's having sex with. He was named after his extremely rich and powerful great grandfather Armand Hammer. Armand Hammer bought the baking powder company (Arm and Hammer) because of it's name, not the other way around. Hammer worked massive citizen diplomacy with the USSR .

So Army's great grandfather was one of the wealthiest men in the US.....and he was named after him.

With all the North Wests and Inspektor Pilots, being the name sake of a wealthy industrialist, art collector, citizen diplomat and philanthropher is not a bad thing.
