I remember thinking, "you have 2 young kids and live in a luxury condo in a tropical paradise (Grand Cayman), how can you be bored?" Then I remembered, oh, yeah, he's a rich white man. He can't do exactly what he wants when he wants to in lockdown, so he's "bored." Then they announced the divorce and he took off to LA and started the parade of women. Have these people not heard of Playstations? Like clearly that's the least of Armie's problems at this point, but that's what always goes through my head hearing about bored rich people. |

I’m bored allll the time. Crossword puzzles, cooking, not showering everyday, Frasier reruns, planning vacations I’ll take again someday - it all works pretty well to cure boredom for a while. When I read the DM's, it occurred to me we are lucky that this guy is a working actor with a women apparently willing to participate consensually in his kinks, and that he's not an actual serial killer.

There was a rumor on LSA that not every participant consented. This was a "my friend said I could share her story on this internet message board" situation, so it must be taken with a boulder of salt, but it was around the time of the divorce announcement, before all the DMs came out.
I don't think he'd be a serial killer. He sounds so dumb he'd get caught after the first one. He sent this stuff from his verified account. I think he was trying to get caught cheating by his wife, it was so blatant. I expect most celebrities w/verified accounts also let their publicists and assistants have access so they can post their paid sponsorships or boring promotional content. The content of the messages is like he wants to be in Patrick Bateman territory.

I have no interest in clicking on the links about what his fetishes are because all these context clues are so gross and disturbing, but it’s funny that he’s in the news because I just watched “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” movie for the first time last week, since it appeared free on the Roku channel this month. The movie was much better than I ever expected, an entertaining good time that made me like Alicia Vikander and Henry Cavill as actors even more, but every time Hammer was onscreen, I just kept thinking “black hole of charisma” and also of that “Ten Years of Trying to Make Armie Hammer Happen” article that is conveniently linked on the previous page (probably the only entertainment headline I will ever retain in memory until I die, it’s just so petty and funny).
If he’s gross and disturbed, I hope his wife takes him for as much of that baking soda fortune as she can.

I love TMFU! It didn't do well in the theater, but I think it's caught on with fans through streaming. Every once in a while there's chatter about a possible sequel but it never goes anywhere and this has probably killed the idea altogether. So, thanks, ARMIE!

I read that he left an upcoming movie role, or maybe got let go? The movie is Shotgun Wedding with JLO. This was the attached quote:
