"Double Penns" is quite possibly the dirtiest double-entendre ever to make it to broadcast TV. Great episode, even better on second and third viewings. "Weird gay turkey party" is now the name of whatever I do with my pals.

Love this show. So many jokes that you just don't catch on first viewing. Reminds me of 30 Rock and Arrested Development in that regard.

I rewatched the vision board episode, and caught Max's comment about wanting everything Penny had put on her vision board except a boyfriend who looks at him during sex, since that's probably not realistic. I died. I love that they get this stuff past the censors!

I'm not digging Penny's straightened hair.
Is anyone else feeling like they just don't know what to do with Alex's character?
ETA: bronze, thanks for the link to the interview! That really helped. I think they are doing a good job with Dave but Alex is still a mish mash and doesn't stand out at all like she did at first. She's just sort of...there.
Penny is my favorite. I noticed in the last epi, her hair wasn't so stick straight and I'm glad cuz that's not a good look for her.
So, yeah, Penny is my favorite but I'm starting to really really like Jane. Her mannerisms KILL me. So damned funny.
When Max was telling everyone what NOT to do when his highschool girlfriend showed up and he told Jane not to do that thing with her hands so she slowly dropped her hands under the table...So hilarious.

I read an interview with the producers of the show a couple of weeks ago and they pretty much said that it has taken them a while to figure out what to do with Alex and Dave. The other 4 all come from a comedy background and are just naturally funny whereas with those two it took them longer to figure out when they were most funny. Interview is here btw. It was a pretty good read. The show just got a full season pickup so yay! Fred Savage was funny. I know he is a big time tv director now but he should do more acting too. I think the ending right before the credits was the funniest part of the latest epi.
Also, the garbage hipster names of the kids.
