Maybe a poke cake? The ones where after baking a white or yellow sheet cake, you poke holes in the surface and pour liquid gelatin in. When the cake is cut, the cross section has a nice drip visual effect. The light cake color contrasts with the gelatin color (which could be red or blue) and the sheet cake surface provides a lot of real estate to decorate as the baker desires.

Based on a highly scientific test (my wedding reception), I can confirm that there is no such thing as a leftover deviled egg.
For the coronation street party, chocolate chip cookies? They're probably not exotic, but they're definitely American.

American in London here. Artichoke Spinach dip is not a thing here, but it is disappears when I take it to a party. It’s a great way to make friends.
If you want to make something sweet, Angel Food cake is something that is not British, but again very popular. I usually serve it with lemon curd, whipped cream and raspberries.

I have never made a good ham. I generally buy a fully-cooked one and heat it in the oven, but it's always dry by the time it reaches the recommended internal temperature. Is there a secret that I don't know?? Easter brunch is facing me down and I'm dreading the ham ordeal.
Editing: Ah, never mind. Going to serve melon with prosciutto for the two non-vegetarians at our table and call it good.

I recently made some Limoncello and it was pretty tasty if the empty bottle at my last bbq was any indication.
So I started my experiment in making a margarita liqueur. I put some lime peels in tequila to steep just now. And now I have all these limes that I will need to juice. So I guess it is time make real margaritas. 🤷♀️

Remember Jurgen from GBBO? I just got his new book from the library and there is not one single thing in there I want to make, which is disappointing because I liked him on the show, and I'm of German heritage myself. This weekend I made apple cake from a box mix from Fisher, who is famous here in the PNW for their Washington State Fair scones. It was very easy, and excellent! I used Ginger Gold apples from the farmer's market and did not add nuts. I also sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top when I pulled it from the oven.

For Christmas brunch I made baklava using Onyxia's recipe from 2006 (!) subbing pecans for the almonds and walnuts and using honey from my own bees. It was absolutely delicious!

A week and a half ago I made Shirazi salad, which I’ve never eaten before. My lord, was it ever tasty! So good as a dip using baked pitas. I’ve since made it 2 more times. Bonus that it’s accidentally vegan
