If she were to actually win the Oscar this early in her career, I think we'd never see her beyond the Dragon film/s. Well-established actresses struggle to overcome the Oscar curse; she wouldn't stand a chance. I agree with you, but I don't think she has to worry about winning.

It's likely going to be Streep, Williams, or Davis. Unless they decide to do a make-up Oscar and give it to Close. In any case, girl doesn't have a shot in hell.

Rooney at the Japanese premiere of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (January 30th, Tokyo): Close-upFull Length Shot+ Rooney on the cover of Vanity Fair's March 2012 Hollywood Issue. Video where they interview her during the shoot. She's also replacing Blake Lively in Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects. It sounds like the investors were not too fond of Lively being cast as a lead.

Every since Dlisted said she looks like Alfalfa, that's all I can see now.

I saw her interviewed on the red carpet. She must be the most humorless person on the planet.

I like the dress except for the bandage-y back.

I don't think she ever had a chance in hell of winning this year, but I'd say that as long as she continues to act like the world's biggest wet dishrag she's probably not going to endear herself to many of the people who give these things out. Most of the geriatric Academy voters probably don't relate that well to a modern multi-pierced bisexual goth character as it is. When the actress playing her is going around acting withdrawn, glum, underwhelmed, awkward, and ungrateful, well, as someone mentioned upthread, many people probably think that she's not having to work too hard to play an antisocial character. Unless she changes I could see her going the way of Val Kilmer -- talented, but so insufferable that she can't get work!

She looks so awkward and uncomfortable in those photos, like she doesn't know what to do with her hands. Maybe she is just another Kristen Stewart. However, here's a hint: if you're really that painfully shy, why not find a job that doesn't require you to be in the public eye? Go and do something useful with yourself instead.

I found her "just picked out a dress this morning" schtick annoying, but otherwise I didn't think she was that bad. She probably knew she didn't have a snowball's chance of winning.
