Jessica is the only top tier actor or actress address this issue and good for her for saying something. The rest of the white nominees have pretended like this whitewashing isn't happening. Hollywood would be a better place if there were more Jessica Chastains. She also spoke out against Russell Crowe's recent stupid comments about older actresses whereas Meryl Streep actually defended him. Jessica is definitely not afraid to speak her mind and good for her. ITA. She has repeatedly spoken her mind on different topics without ever sounding preachy. I'd rather hear an actress (or actor) about these things than seeing their name on a petition supporting Polanski. If someone now comes in posting that her name is indeed on that petition I will ban myself for a month :-( |

What happened to A Most Violent Year? The indie theater near me ran previews for it all December/January and had it as "coming soon" in its flyers and posters. Now there's no sign of it. It looked good from the trailers.
