Between all the papers, application essays and esp., the GRE, I didn't have much of a chance to read anything other than directly-related-to-school/work stuff this year. But from the world of YA:
Best: Kirsty McKay's Undead. I'm not into zombie things, but it was an interesting and engaging story. Especially, it was so awesome to have a heroine who is active and competent (and not going so far into the over the top "OMG Girlz Kick Ass/Throw Rocks at Boys" tokenism).
Worst: Sweet Valley Confidential, of course. It could have been so much more. Instead, it was a boring retread of the most problematic Sweet Valley plot(s) ever, and weakened the few moderately interesting characters in the process. Ronette nailed it when she said:
