The kids look to be more scripted now that they're older. Mady seems especially rehearsed. Clearly the plan is for her to be "the brat" in an attempt to carve out some sort of entertainment career. It's a terrible plan that could possibly backfire down the road for Kate. Instead of using the money made from these shows to go towards Mady's education, Kate could end up having to use it to bail her out of jail. Meanwhile, Cara's not having any of it.

There haven't been any TV appearances promoting this that I know of. Despite having TLC backing her again, Kate might have finally killed her relationship for good with The Today Show after the last fiasco.

ETA: Kate was interviewed on GMA instead of Today. So yeah, Today Show is definitely through with Kate. Apparently a bird has replaced Jon as Kate's 9th child. Poor Jon. He's an orphan now.

Gosh, I just watched part of the previews (I couldn't get over Kate's shiny, waxy face) But even the little kids are so over mommy's micromanaging ways. One said 'Everytime mommy sets up a big party like this she's then always 'Ohhhh I'm too tired! I don't wanna do this!'' The only thing that seemed to sway them was the prospect of a cotton candy machine. She said the big girls influence the little ones- but really the little ones just got her number, hussy!

Kate has got to let go and let the kids decide what they want for a party. Loosen those apron strings.She's so Type A she doesn't realize it. The kids have matured nicely.Especially the boys.You can tell they're a type group.Their speech is so much better.The girls too have matured well. Mady and Cara....those wonderful teen years.I don't know how my parents made it with all girls.
Yes Kate is controlling and kinda self centered but the kids are thriving and I didn't see the abuse that some of the Anti Kate people claim is there.

I'm sure Kate loves her kids and I empathize with trying to raise 8 kids mostly by herself. But as a mother she totally lacks a sense of warmth or affection. It's all about control. And it's hard to sympathize with her need for money when she's clearly spending a good deal of it on her own appearance.

Mady has been in bitchy teenager mode since birth - something is wrong with that girl. Hopefully she's nicer when she's not showing off for cameras. Of course teens are obnoxious, but you can only blame that for so long and so often. Remember when Kate used to blame blood sugar?! And sorry (and shallow) to say - but she's average looking at best. They all are. No Disney contracts are coming your way, kids.

The kids are just regular kids ... Yawn. I really hope Kate isn't delusional enough to think that they're all stars. Although her solid, immovable forehead seems to think that it's a star. And now we're supposed to believe that she's a great animal lover because she's got a bird on her shoulder? I still see no evidence that the poor dog is actually allowed inside the house.

And a tip for future interviews - don't whine and moan about how you barely get through the day - to the woman with CANCER! I cringed up a storm watching Kate poor me her way through an interview with someone who may be terminal. Too bad they didn't get Robin Roberts in their too so Kate could bitch about how much Botox hurts.

She's actually made something of a comeback and it clinging to the out fringes of fame. She's on "Celebrity Apprentice" and has her show back? (Or is it a special? Series of specials?)

DOES Kate want that? My impression was she wanted to be famous in her own right, not be second fiddle to one of her kids. If you look at what she's done, (DWTS, Apprentice, that proposed show "Twist of Kate" where she visits other families) none of them involve her kids. Even when she goes on talk shows, it was her twins once, and every other time just her.

I think she realizes her kids are why she's famous, and they need to be around if she's going to get on camera, but they're means to an end. Do you really see control freak Kate revolving her life around someone else, putting all her energy into getting headshots and auditions for her kids, and being a worker bee in the background?
