Yeah, but if all you got as gifts were crappy Jesus stautuettes, it might not be such a good idea.

I know people get tired of Chenoweth and her whole "Ain't I adorable?" schtick, but IMO, dammit she is adorable.
I think the Amanda character is just supposed to be the lead "normal" character, so compared to the others, she comes off as flat. I'm not sure if it's the actress or the part. I like Leslie Bibb and I think she was well-cast in this. She totally seems like the popular girl in school all the guys fall over (much like her character in Popular).

I agree, puretrash. I love Cheno! She cracks me up when she has to jump on tables to either confront her husband or spy out the window with her night vision scope. She cracks me up.

I think the line deliveries on this show are very good. They're delivered with great expression and timing.
I find Leslie Bibb believable as someone who would have been very popular in high school. What I'm having a hard time grappling with is trying to imagine her as having been mean. She's kind of funny when she lapses into a Southern accent and gives attitude. Not as funny as the others, but I can see a spark when she works the Southern accent.
I also find the singing amusing.

Pastor Troy & Amanda! Yes! I'm so glad they kissed because for weeks I've been finding Pastor Troy kinda sexy & thought he should hook up with Amanda (or anyone). He's a pastor, not celibate. I do not like the horse trainer. Was there supposed to be chemistry between him & Cricket? Because I didn't see it. I heard a lot of sexual innuendos, but that was about it. And threatening Blake to get to Cricket? Gross! Dude. That's not how you woo a woman. I did not see Rip having a kid outside of his marriage. Rather surprised about that. Still think there's something else shady about him. Gigi cracks me up. I was wonder where she hid that gun.

Wheee! I was so glad they kissed, too. Paster Tudor is mucho caliente! He and Amanda having a storyline is the only way I can really get interested in her character. And I HATE that horse trainer, Mason. I didn't see the chemistry, either. Why would Cricket want to be with a guy that would threaten her family like that? She may not have the same relationship that she could/would have with another man, but her and Blake love each other very much and have a child together. What a major douche to go and screw with that. The whole Ripp thing has be yawning. He's been shady since day one. But I love Sharon! I don't know why, but I think she's just hilarious. And Gigi is my favorite TV mom on the air right now. ETA: But crap! I had no idea the gal that plays Sharon is a $cieno! Must be very interesting to be so biblical in this role. And she was Terri's sister on GLEE! She does bring the funny.

So did Sharon wear padding when the show began or did the actress actually lose weight? Because she looks much thinner now that her Losin’ It With Jesus program is a success. Pastor Tudor reminds me of (a smarter) Joey Tribiani. I think it’s it boyish grin or bushy brows or enthusiasm, or something. I really enjoy this show. I don’t know what the ratings are or if there’s a lot of kerfuffle in the U.S. about its alleged* portrayal of Christianity, but I hope it’s back next season. It’s fluffy entertainment that makes me smile. *I say alleged because some people will just look at the title, or watch five minutes and see church people behaving badly, and assume the show is mocking Christians. Which it is not – it’s mocking hypocrisy.

I remember Sharon from movies/tv shows in the 90s. She was rail thin, but she blew up. I wasn't surprised when I saw her because her weight gain had been documented. Saying that, she definitely is getting thinner. I don't know if she's dieting and we're watching the natural progression or what.

I don't think the show is mocking Christians at all. If anything, it is actually showing Christians in a good light. Even the "meanest" one, Carlene-in her heart, she is truly trying to do the Christian thing, even if she goes about it all wrong. And Cricket has her good side as well. And of course, you have the pastor and yes, he is adorable.
The only time I think the show truly mis-stepped is when the ladies were going to go after Amanda's daughter. Even then, Carlene didn't agree to that. I hope they don't go down that road again. I don't want to see them get truly evil. I much prefer the light bitching that typically goes on in Southern churches-the gossiping, the drama over the solos, who gets the lead in the church musical, Pastor Troy's little feud with that other queeny pastor-all of that stuff was hilarious (and very familiar) to me.

I hope I'm not saying his name wrong. Is it Pastor Troy? I always thought they called him Pastor Tudor and his first name was John?
(It's so hard to keep up with some of the names on this show)
