It's PR spin like this that makes me hope there is a video of the arrest.

Reese probably did show her ass, but it's also possible that the policeman exaggerated things a bit because she pissed him off. She should have just kept her mouth shut. No, she SHOULD have just called for a cab in the first place.

I am sure adrenaline kicked in and she was freaking out because her hubby was getting arrested. I wouldn't be surprised if the cop is exaggerating too though because we are talking about two people in positions of "power." The apology is par. I feel sure that someone (attorney?) is advising her not to mention the drunk driving yet. She is really only apologizing for her own behavior that led to her own arrest at this point. They haven't even had the court date yet. Anyhoo, she behaved idiotically.

I'm sure she meant "Don't you know my name" as a fame tactic, but it is possible that the officer never asked for her ID since she wasn't the one driving. Watching enough COPS in my life, I've found that the officers tend to arrest the passengers by association (or if they asked for it, as in Reese's case) and they usually do ask for their ID to check if they have any previous warrants, etc.
I guess that PR spin is a plausible statement.

I don't buy it at all. Not with that particular phrasing, phrasing which she doesn't dispute. I notice there is no PR response to the "You're about to find out who I am", which puts her first statement in a much more belligerent context. I'd have more respect for her if she waited for the all clear from her lawyers and then just did an interview unconditionally acknowledging how boneheaded she was. Her attempts to downplay her actions undermine her credibility for me.

Yeah, the "you're about to find out who I am" isn't exactly what you say when you're handing over your license and registration to a cop.

Both she and her husband are massively entitled people. Their sense of entitlement is what came through loud and clear.

Plus, you know, she essentially admitted the behavior in her PR apology, so...

I have to give it to her PR people, because this is a complete surprise to me. I am not saying that I believed that she is sweet as pie, but I always thought that she was squeaky clean. She has crafted this devoted mom, consummate professional rep that apparently is a fabrication because that is some straight up Tennessee WT right there. Getting into a car totally smashed, mouthing off at the police officer who is just trying to protect the public from her husband's drunk, dangerous ass, and then pulling the famous card...I am surprised at her. And I know that parents get arrested all the time, but they have three kids at home. That is some really crappy behavior to model.
Don't prove Ryan Phillippe to be the good parent, Laura Jeanne Poon!

Saying "you're going to know who I am" and "you're going to be on the national news tomorrow" provides pretty clearly context for what she said, and it certainly wasn't an innocent query about whether he needed to see her driver's license. Nice try, publicist.
