Officially crosses $1 billion mark worldwide. Shut my mouth, I never thought Joss Whedon would pull something like this off. Even my mom wants to see it a second time!

Tom Hiddleston as Loki was smoking hot.
This is weird because the actor himself doesn't really do that much for me. Kind of like Ian Somerhalder seems like a nice enough guy but as Damon on TVD *swoon*.

ITA - Loki is the most bangable guy in that film, and (what with all the beefcake) that's saying something.

Maybe it's the same thing that makes some of us think Spock is so much hotter than Kirk... Tall dark and broody always works for me.

So if it cost $220M to make The Avengers and another $110M to market it - that's still a completely worthwhile cost if it's going to bring in a billion bucks in the first couple of weeks. It's nowhere near finished making money.

I agree completely about finding Hiddleston more attractive in character. Part of it is the hair color - the darker tone really suits him.

I'm still kind of cracking up (in approval) at how Mark Ruffalo kind of came out of nowhere and nearly stole the movie. And I really like how gracious he is about Bana and Norton.

I watched it again last night, and came away to two more favorite momemts: Loki trying to put the whammy on Tony and failing, and Tony jabbing Bruce in the side with a stick trying to shock the Hulk out of him. I don't know how I missed those moments before.

I wonder what will over take the top spot at the box office? I don't image Battleship will or SWATH. Both have gotten mediocre to horrid reviews. Prometheus looks amazing, but it doesn't come out for another three weeks. It will be interesting to see if even the final Batman came come close to The Avengers.

This movie has a really good chance of taking the #3 highest domestic gross of all time and pushing The Dark Knight down to 4th. I don't think it will have enough steam to take #2 from Titanic though (too many big upcoming summer movies). Very impressive!

I thought Loki was more attractive in Thor! (You know after watching The Avengers TWICE, I added Captain America and Thor to my "must see" DVD list.) I seriously leaned over at some point during The Avengers to say about Loki, "Why is he so ugly?" to which my friend responded, "Because he's evil." (LOL guys, if you didn't realize I was kidding.)

Also Loki was more attractive in Midnight in Paris. Annnnddd he is wayyyy younger than I thought!

Loki suffers a little from Fassy syndrome in that he's only (in this case) in his early thirties but often looks much older than he really is ;-)

Oh that's so cool I have much respect for that, especially considering some of the stuff he's gone through. A lot of people would have just become assholes.
