Bumping...
Best part of the show is the Arrow team. The Merlyn Global break-in was so good. The hoax to get Moira to reveal Merlyn's plans was brilliant. They had me fooled because at first, I thought it was the Dark Archer kidnapping them.
John Barrowman is a terrific villain. I kinda hope he doesn't die next week. He's so good at being bad. He kicked Oliver's ass and I wasn't mad about it. Probably because I was pissed about the Oliver/Laurel hookup and Tommy seeing it. Lazy, predictable writing. I know the writers wanted to address the triangle, but all it did was prove that anything concerning Laurel turns Oliver into the jerk he was before the island. He forgets things like loyalty and honesty. What he did to Tommy was unforgiveable. He lied to Tommy. Told him he wouldn't come between him & Laurel, but did the exact opposite when he thought he could return to his old life. Bad move, Ollie. Bad move. (Hate that nickname. Symbolizes everything that annoys me about Laurel & Pre-island Oliver.)
I'm done with Laurel. The writers have had an entire season to fix her character. Her only purpose has been as a love interest. She does nothing to advance the story. Every character had something to do with the Undertaking plot, except Laurel. She was too busy deciding she was in love with Oliver, after telling Tommy she was in love with him a few days prior. I can't with this chick.

She doesn't bother me at all. She's a symbol of pre-Arrow Oliver and his general assholery, what with his shallow self-cent redness and screwing her sister and the long term ramifications of that choice.
I find that Tommy and his father look too close in age. Tommy (and seriously, he's 30 and they don't call him Tom by now?) is kind of hard-looking and lined in his face, while his father is botoxedly smooth and youthful.
That said, this is one of my favourite shows still.

The Olliglicity team is the best thing about the show. It's too bad about Katie Cassidy because I have loved her in everything else she has done. But the writing for Laurel is so bad, not even Katie can salvage it. I hate when shows (*cough*Smallville*cough*) have leads that have better chemistry with secondary characters like Felicity/Ollie (Clark/Chloe), yet they still intend to shove the canon couple in the audiences' face. It's annoying.

The finale was good. I really enjoyed it. Team Arrow was great as usual. Loved Diggle speech about being there for Oliver and Felicity's insistence on staying. They each had a job & she wasn't going to shirk hers because she was a girl. The guys fighting Malcolm was so good. Damn, John Barrowman, why did you have to be so good at being bad? Now, you're gone. Moira stepped up to the plate. With Malcolm supposedly dead or MIA, she's going to bear the brunt of the Undertaking, which is a shame. Thea & Roy's romance is meh. Don't really care about them because it seems forced. Pair the young ones because we can. I did like Roy moving towards becoming Red Arrow, though. He's got a separate path to take from Thea and that's alright by me.
I muted the Laurel/Oliver scene because lighting isn't going to make them epic or romantic. It's just not. And what was so important about those papers? Is this not a modern-day office where papers are scanned into an external drive? I mean...when 2 people tell you to get out of the Glades and you stay, then you sorta deserve to be crushed by a concrete slab. Which brings me to...Tommy.
I hate Tommy died. I liked him. He had shown the most growth of the members of the triangle.

I also hate that Tommy died. I think he was my favorite character and probably the best actor on the show. Maybe we will see him somewhere else on the CW soon.

He was so much fun, the series lost a lot by killing him off.
I was disappointed with the deaths of both Merlyns. I was hoping either Tommy would take over (with the ghost of his dad whispering in his ear Dexter-style) or Malcolm would be so grief-crazed over losing both his wife and his son he'd come back even deadlier and more ruthless than before.
Oliver was annoying and Laurel is such a pointless pain in the ass I ended up rooting for Malcolm to take down the Glades and the rest of the city if he could manage it. Rumor has it Malcolm will reappear next season in flashbacks so I'll watch those parts of those episodes but I really don't have enough of a connection to other characters to watch regularly.

I've been catching up on the show for the past few weeks and really enjoyed it overall. It's fun, although I agree that Laurel is one of my least favorite characters. I just watched the finale and was so sad to see Tommy die. Couldn't they have killed Laurel instead?

Cast Caity Lotz as Black Canary. Her real identity, though, is long-thought dead, Sara Lance. So ridiculous but there you go. The writers are saying her story is the BC origins story and Laurel will still be Black Canary. Right...
Dr. Barry Allen aka the Flash will be introduced in a 3-ep arc that will serve as a back door pilot to his new CW show.
Summer Glau has joined the cast as well as corporate raider, Isabel Rochev.

I feel bad for Katie Cassidy. I have liked her acting on other shows like Harper's Island and Melrose Place (the only good thing about it), but here she is so.dull. I did like her with Tommy and when she's away from Olly, but they are like the anti-chemistry. And I LOVE Felicity! I am so glad she is now a regular. Her popularity reminds of me Smallville's Chloe, who was supposed to be a background character but fans lover her so much she became a regular. I just hope they don't destroy her like they did Chloe.

I hope they don't destroy her too. Or kill her off just to make way for Oliver/Laurel. *cough*Tommy*cough*
